I purchased this remote (VUR8M) last week and it came in just several days later. Last night I finally got a chance to spend some time with it. It found my Vizio 47" TV right away. I wanted a remote control that would be able to control the Vizio Soundbar on the same setting as the TV controls since I have my TV speakers OFF and the soundbar is connected... I didn't want the pain of having to switch modes on the remote when I needed to adjust the volume. One Vizio tech told me the remote couldn't do what I wanted it to, while another technician assured me it would work. Sure enough, it did! You just "learn" the soundbar remote's functions on the TV mode/setting and you're all set! The remote looks real nice and the backlit buttons are pretty rad. There are other universal learning remotes for half the price but this one looks a lot nicer and keeps with the Vizio branding.

I recently purchased the vizio vur8 universal remote to operate all of my vizio products. I have a vizio hdtv, vizio soundbar w/ wireless subwoofer and a vizio blu ray player. So heres what i have found. as far as operation of the lcd it works seamlessly. I had to put the remote in learning mode to teach the functions for the vizio sound bar and functions are limited you can control the mute, the volume and the power and that is as far as i could get with the universal ,which is good because it does get rid of the small remote which came with the vizio soundbar....however you still must use the soundbar remote to control the base ,input and surround settings my suggestion is pick your settings to where you want them for these particular controls and leave them...as far as using the remote for the vizio blu ray things seem to work well however there is not any button control on the universal to control the eject tray on the vizio blu ray which i find odd but i guess you just cant have everything..all in all this is an excellent remote as far as controlling different components other than vizio products refer to manual...i give the remote an 8 out of 10 rating due to a few inconsistencies when operating other vizio products . I would tell vizio to do more of a thourough design in as far as what the remote can and cannot do especially with their own products ...i hope this helps others to understand the remote and gives them a chance to make their own decision in purchasing this universal remote...
