47” Class LCD Smart TV with Theater 3D | E3D470VX
Product Review (submitted on April 21, 2011):
First I bought the 47 inch LCD LCD 3D VIZIO because it was what I thought to be a great buy. Everything about the TV is awesome except the 3D. I paid about $1,400 for the TV and $140.00 for the 2 pack of glasses. There was so much image doubling that it took me out of the movie. I bought new HDMI cables, watched 3D content from all 3D providers and it was all the same.
A few days after I bought the 47 in. LCD LED VIZIO TV I read that VIZIO was coming out with a new Theatre 3D technology that uses the cheep polarized glasses that come with the TV. AWESOME!! This same sized TV was also about $500.00 less then the VIZIO and it claimed to drastically reduce the ghosting you see so often with the battery powered glasses. They were right. I returned the more expensive for the more affordable VIZIO 3D TV. The 3D is AMAZING in comparison. My only complaints are that the really cut back on the features of the TV itself.
After haveing some of the greatest functionality on my first generation Internet VIZIO TVs and the 1st 3D TV I bought I assumed this TV would have the same functionality. Way wrong. It also lacks LED imaging but really can't tell the difference. Also no universal remote, no Bluetooth, and the way you access the 3D function is sometimes a drag. There is a 3D button on the remote but it does not work when you are on VUDU. You have to do a work around through the menu button and that sometimes won't work so you have to exit VUDU and start again. The nicer VIZIO auto detects a 3D signal and asks if your glasses are ready.
I'm sure to get the price under $900 there are things that had to be cut. Don't let what I wish it had detour from buying this TV. This TV is stunning for the money and the best part is that you can by the REAL-D movie theatre glasses for like $1.00 a piece on EBAY and they work just as good as the ones that come with the VIZIO (thought not as cool looking nor as comfortable) but if you are buying this you are on a budget anyways so who cares right? They work.
Lastly the SONY Playstation gaming with this TV is SICK! SOOOO SICK!
Do yourself a favor and get to WALMART today and grab this TV. (Don't forget the extended warranty)
