- Very nice. Exceptional quality at a reasonable price. Review by D-Man

Purchased this at Walmart February 8, 2012, just a couple hours before the Super Bowl. Offered free delivery but we took it home in our 4-Runner. We had been window-shopping for a 65-inch 3D LED HDTV with internet access for months. We really considered the Vizio XVT series but decided to wait and see if anything new came out since the XVTs had been on the market for some time. We shopped other brands, too, not just Vizio.
When we saw the just-released M series and the price was so much lower than the XVTs, we thought it couldn't be comparable in quality. But after reading a few very good reviews we decided to take one home for the $1,798 Walmart price. Yes, hundreds of dollars less than the cheapest XVT online and even lower than a refurbished XVT.
We couldn't be more pleased with the ease of setup and the picture quality. Yes, we compared lots of HDTV specs. Yes, the high-end Samsungs and Sonys look a little better in the Best-Buy showroom. Those unites are around $5,000 plus you need to buy those expensive active 3D glasses to see 3D on them. What matters is if you are pleased with a TV when you get it home and start watching it.
Pros: Outstanding picture quality with no picture difference on any part of the screen. Even the old black and White Gunsmoke episodes look great. Easy Vizio apps. Simple remote and on-screen menus. After being turned off for ten minutes, the TV shuts down completely. Starting with this M Series, you can even turn the Vizio logo off if it bothers you.
Cons: The screen is reflective. The frame and base aren't anything special to look at. You CAN position your TV to eliminate reflections, and you won't be watching the base. The sound is just okay, but we already had our own sound system.
I enjoy watching the picture on this unit and I am ecstatic that I didn't pay 5 Grand for only a somewhat better TV. Can't speak to the long-term reliability yet, or to the 3D, but this 65-inch Vizio M series HDTV appears to be a great decision.
Did we watch the Super Bowl? Boy, did we watch the Super Bowl!(Posted on 2/8/12)
- Great so far! Review by Paulyterp

I bought the older model 65" from Costco last November. While walking around Walmart (and 4 days before my return period expired), my fiance noticed that this 65" was $400 less than the older model from Costco. We jumped on this right away and bought the new TV... had it set up at home just before the Super Bowl. Here's what I've noticed so far...
Pros (what's better on the new model):
* There is no red ghosting that was visible and annoying on the old model.
* The smoothing effects seemed to work better.
* The picture in general seems to be a hair sharper.
* There is no edge-lit border around the picture. The older model is significantly brighter around the edges, and that's not a good thing!
Cons:
* No Bluetooth (but do I really care?)
* The keyboard being behind the remote is annoying.
* The TV does not auto convert to 3D. When you turn to a 3D channel, you have to manually convert to 3D where the older model did the automatically.
* 4 vs. 5 HDMI ports.
the fact that the newer model does not have the red residual image makes ALL the difference. That red blur is something you can't un-see and can get really annoying. Overall, I'm very happy with the Vizio 3D TVs and think they provide an excellent value. But if I were you, I would go with the M series. :-) Hope this helps.(Posted on 2/6/12)
