- Amazing tv Review by Bigman

It is a great TV, and to Witchstick, it is an edge lit tv, which means its lit by LED's so it will always have the light around the edge of the TV. And the only thing i notice is sometimes when you play a bluray there will be a little bit of blur between motions if something is happening fast, and I tried turning off the cinema smooth feature as said by tsunamitomi in the other comments.

- Great TV Review by BBStacker

We went black friday shopping and found good prices on TVs (I wanted to upgrade from a 42" to 51") and debated on three TVs (1 $500 plasma, 1 $700 LCD, and this model). I talked my Darling Husband (and his parents who wanted our either old one or the plasma for their Christmas present) out of it and went back and forth with him between the 51" LCD and this one. Both had wifi but this was $600 AND 3D (both were a bonus that we weren't looking for in a TV - just wanted the bigger screen to more effectively play two player Call of Duty games) with a blue tooth remote control (so I don't have to be in line of site to change the channel). DH was interested in the LED technology but it wasn't until after we chose this one that I pointed that part out to him (I assumed he saw it and was further pleased). Both TVs had clear pictures and were very similar in quality with what was offered but it seems like this one offered more than the 51" so since DH is the electronic techy of the house who likes his TV to be just right, I wanted him to make the final decision. In the end he gave me the final choice. I pointed the positives of this one out to him and asked him if there were any more positives in the 51" (besides wifi and size) that I don't know about and this one ultimately won out due to it's power conservation.
I'm happy with it so far. DH is ecstatic over it and has glued himself to the 3D feature (No Batteries Required for 3D glasses in case you're wondering). We love being able to watch Netflix and Amazon movies directly on the TV. Don't care much for the twitter and facebook features (though we might in the future when we try them out) and haven't explored any of the other applications we can use if we feel like it.
Since I talked about the positives that we like here are some of the negatives we don't care for:
The slide-out keyboard of the remote is uncomfortable to use. The arrows for navigating are on the left side instead of the right and on the right side is four similar buttons each of a different color. I would like the arrows on the Right side instead or it would be cool if they had two potentially navigation pads where both sets of arrows are color coded and we can program the remote to have the navigation pad on one side or the other. (I haven't discovered the point of the color coded buttons yet but I think DH has. I think they're short cuts or something.) Also, something about the feel of the keyboard and thumbs is uncomfortable too but I think that's been put at greater annoyance when I keep wanting to use the right thumb for navigation. It is light weight though with an easy access wifi button that makes navigation easy when you're using the main remote and not the keypad on it.
Oh, and the light sensor became prominent as soon as we turned the lights off and the TV dimmed down. That was weird and we didn't like it so DH turned it off. I am glad this is an option for when we're watching TV and allowing the kids to sleep in the living room though.
On the neutral side that we don't like but others may like is hard to explain. When we're watching 2D, non-cartoon movies, especially those that are more than 2 years old (DVD and Cable formats), they seem almost too real. I feel like I'm on the production set as if sitting in the director's chair and could yell "cut" at any time. It's like watching "the makings of (movie name)" without any commentaries or voice overs and the scenes of the final product are being showed. It just feels like I can see the set. I can tell what has been green screened (blue screen for 80s and 90s movies), what action moves are faked (through wire suspension even though the wire isn't visible), and whether or not some of the props they use are real or cheep imitations. This and other similar TVs have put the movie makers' skills to the test. It'll be nice to see a movie that feels more like a movie and doesn't seem so real like that set feeling.
Hope this helps potential buyers.(Posted on 11/29/11)
- ringing sound from tv Review by lwilson

We actually bought two of these tvs on the black friday special at Wal-Mart. We've plugged both in and they both have a ringing/buzzing sound coming from inside the tv. It is there when you mute the tv or if the volume is on. When you turn the power off it makes the sound for about 20-30 seconds and then is gone. I called Vizio customer service and it was great service. They are sending me a replacement tv but I don't want the ringing and I'm wondering if anyone else noticed this problem. Two TVs and both make the ringing sound so it doesn't look good. Nothing hooked up to them either except U-Verse and still makes the noise when U-Verse is not hooked in. If this is a defect with this product then I'll go ahead and select something different. I really don't want to because the picture is awesome so hoping it's just bad luck with the two we got.

Just got this baby on black Friday for $600. It retails around $1000. I was completely pleased with it right away, I just have gotten around to really tweaking the picture and at this point....WOW! I would be totally impressed with this thing at full price, but I feel like I got away with robbery at this price for the quality with all these amazing specs!

- Great so far! Review by tsunamitomi

Black Friday steal @ $600, The picture is great! I did turn off the cinema smooth feature because it makes the motion of most TV shows look strange, hard to describe. There is no longer the normal motion blur that you would expect so the movement of the camera look unnatural to me. Thankfully this can easily be toggled on and off and the result is a beautiful picture and cinema quality images.
I have played some 3d games and watched a 3d movie they both worked flawlessly.
I also tried out the fullscreen split screen trick, if you don't know what I am referring to check out this video. It is awesome and was easy to do.

This tv is sick I could never watch 3D movies so as my wife cause it gave us headaches but with this tv we can, picture quality is awesome 3D,240 hz , LED and wifi for 600 at black friday ooh and the sound on this sucker is crazy can't even put higher than 10 cause sounds loud as hell not like the one I have on my living room wich have to turn it to 40 so it could sound good. Control should have been better quality but u can't beat the price slim light and it works with my PS3 if I turn the tv on PS3 turns on or viceversa and the 4 3D glasses are light and comfy, just one question why when the screen goes all black I have like white light on some corners does that means is messed up well if anyone know about this let me know besides that awesome TV .......

This is my second vizio I've owned. I only got a new one because my old one was stolen from my home. I've never had any problems with vizio's and so far this TV is everything I thought it'd be. Amazing color. Slim design. Great Sound. Everything i expected from a vizio.

- Pros and cons. Review by AlexMurilloh

well i got this tv on black friday, ive only had it for about 4 days, but ill still throw out a review,
well the pros.
the TV is easy to maneuver through out the menu, the only thing id have to complain about the menu is that it need to describe the options for in depth.
another pro would be the easy set up.
well i bought this tv mainly for game play since i play COD alot, the colors arnt as vivid as SAMSUNG's quality but if you disable the option for automatic brightness it will definitely give samsung a run for its money.
the quality of the control feels very cheap. thats a big con for me since it slides out to become a QWERTY keyboard it seems like i can snap it easily, aswell as the material they use, it feels very hollow inside.
theirs also a disappointment i found. YOU CANT VIEW VIDEOS THROUGH THE USB PORTS! whats up with that!? i have to buy another cable to watch a movie or video. thats bull. well besides those issues, i love this tv bundle i tried the 3D with a non 3D movie and WOW! it converted the movie into 3D i dont think itll do it for every movie, but the movie i rented from amazon was converted. oh, and their is a false advertising, it says they will send 4 3D glasses, but once you get into the box and take out the glasses, they give you 2 basic and 2 premium vizio 3D glasses, thats ridiculous, your already paying up to 1,000 USD and they give you 2 cheap glasses rather than the 4 that they should have given you.(Posted on 11/28/11)

I just purchased the m3d421sr Black friday. I couldn't find any reviews on it, most likely because it is new model. I must say this TV blew me away! I play a ton of video games and the pic is outstanding. I've also been playing Batman Arkham city on 3d and it is amazing. I will finish the game in 3d now. If you are looking for an affordable, high quality tv, this is it. Not cheap feeling at all. I am very happy with my decision. I could've got any make but VIZIO had the best picture that I saw. Love it...
