I purchased this TV in June 2012 for my husband for Father's day. We were amazed at the features this TV has for the price (which has dropped since then!). We get comments all the time about the quality of the 3D movies being better than the theaters .The picture quality in HD and SD are great, too. Having built in apps is very convenient. We no longer have to hook up another device to watch Netflix. Plus, having access to Amazon Vidoes, Vudu, YouTube, etc. right on the TV is a plus. We couldn't have made a better choice when it came to purchasing a new TV!
My absolute only complaint is the sound quality could be improved upon, but it is not by any means horrible. I'm sure adding a sound bar would remedy this.(Posted on 3/16/13)

Bought this for Christmas (2012) and couldn't be happier.
Just got the Vizio 3D blue-ray and tried it on "Life of Pi" 3D. The humming bird in the beginning was in the middle of the room, just great.
My only complaint is in the tv remote. The buttons are to sensitive and it double clicks the numbers or mute. I keep having to retry. This has been my only problem so far.(Posted on 3/14/13)

I've had this tv for over 1 year now and it is amazing. I've had no problems with this product. I purchased originally because of the 3D but the picture and features are great. I read all of the reviews for this tv and a lot of them were negative but I went ahead and purchased it anyway. I'm glad that I did I've not had a single problem. I would recommend this tv to anyone who enjoys 3D and video games or just plan old tv itself.

This TV is "FIVE STARS"...I got John Carter 3D and it was low quality movie. I Rented two movies directly from Vudu and OMG...the quality was extremely perfect. I love this TV and I trust Vizio will keep making quality items at affordable prices. Get VIZIO! Plus, I got Walmart extended Guaranty over Vizio's guaranty, so, I'm covered.

We purchased this HDTV as a Christmas (2012) gift to ourselves. So far, we are very pleased with this purchase. I have it hooked to my Yamaha A/V Receiver, LG Blu-Ray Player, wireless to the computer, no complaints whatsoever. Easy to install and setup, wireless works like a champ, great HD picture, awesome 3D. I read some bad reviews about the speaker sound on this model, but we have had no bad experiences with it. Obviously, it is not 5.1-surround sound, but the quality is just fine. This is our first HDTV, so we wanted one that would blow us away and have a very reasonable price tag. I wanted the Smart wireless to stream movies from my computer, the USB ports for my chip, the 3D capability for obvious reasons, and the 120hz refresh rate for watching sports. I read tons of reviews and found this to be the best one for the money. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something similar, it is absolutely the best bang for the buck.

Ok, I had bought this tv about 18 months ago now i have a solid black line going horizontally across the middle of my tv about 5 inches thick. when i had originally bought the tv i was absolutely amazed by the picture quality and the apps were cool, the fact that it is 3d is another awesome feature that i have used frequently. but now the tv is barley working. if i could go back in time i would definitely buy something else. very unhappy about this situation. i hope this helps someone else before you make the same decision.

I have had my VIZIO E3D470VX 47-Inch 3d HDTV for 1 month now and have used EVERY feature... It Rocks! The picture is beautiful with excellent blacks and colors. It has tons of intuitive picture adjustability. I broke its 3D cherry with Titanic 3D, it was beautiful. For 3D I set the picture to VIVID and there isn't a noticeable loss in brightness. I also watched the 3D content that was available thru the VIA (Vizio Internet Apps) it is quite impresssive too. Both wired and wireless performance are great. I have CenturyLink Internet and a TP-Link Router with 5 ethernet devices connected. The Vizio streams Netflix Amazon Prime and VuDu great. Even lower resolution streamed content looks exceptionally good too. My remote has been working just fine. It is not too small and its QWERTY keys are easy to press. The remote is heavy and has a good build quality as does the TV. I also got a Vizio full backlit remote for $20- I mostly watch in a very darkened room. The picture on the E3D470VX is as good as it gets for any LCD HDTV, and I am a Videophile and Blu-Ray movie junkie. I went with LCD over LED because LED TVs are still experiencing quite a few problems with banding and blocking (all brands). In addition, a lot of LG and Samsung units have been failing from power capacitor problems. Many of Vizios TVs are built for them by Amtran Technology a well respected company. Vizio teams design their TVs and then get them built by the best available contractors (see the JD Powers awards). Moreover, Vizio is an AMERICAN company, so the profits stay here! LCD TV Tech is quite mature too and at its very best. An LED TV might have a longer lifespan, but face it LCD TVs have at least a 70,000 hour lifespan which works out to 8 years if it's on 24hr per day! 4 HDMI's are a must with my setup. I have it paired with a Sony BDP-S590 3D Blu-Ray Player that also has wifi and internet apps. The Sony also has DNLA so I can access PC based content on my Vizio too. I got my VIZIO E3D470VX 47-Inch at Walmart because I couldn't afford to pay cash. Layaway allowed me to pay for it over 4 months.
This was absolutely the most, and best, bang for the buck for a high end Smart WIFI 3D HDTV, and I bought mine largely to get 3D and Internet. It performs flawlessly as an HDMI monitor for a 6-core dual videocard Gaming HTPC too. The build quality of the Vizio is absolutely top notch. I watched the reviews over several months before getting mine. The VIZIO E3D470VX 47-Inch has the highest positive ratings on Amazon and Walmart with great reviews (1,000+ reviews). There is a reason it is virtually sold out online and in stores. I had shopped all the major brands for months for both LCD and LED models, but nothing else compared, especially in the Vizios price range. So far I have not been disappointed. It looks like Walmart and DELL might still have some. If you can still find one get it; it is great!(Posted on 1/6/13)

Purchased this t.v. for myself... yes, thats right! My plans are to move out from my sisters house and have my own place and knew I needed a t.v. I went to Walmart and come to find out they had started their Layaway for the holidays, I took this opportunity and went with the Vizio 47" smart t.v. with 3D. $598.00 later, my t.v. sits in my room still in the box and can't wait to move out!!! Thanks for all the great reviews!!!! And Vizio thank you for such a great economically priced t.v. I'm happy to have read all the great reviews and now I know I made an excellent purchase. I will definitely write another review once I get situated and have time to enjoy my new t.v. Thanks again!

I've had this tv for over a year now and have been completely happy with it. As of 12/1/2012 I have it connected to direct tv;, over the air antenna,; 3d blu ray player;,and a Push2TV unit to push entire web onto tv wirelessly. The 3D is AWESOME, wish there was more content. Not a lick of trouble with tv as yet, would highly recommend and have recommended it to ALL my friends.
