- Excellent TV for the price Review by Jerry
-
I bought it from Sam's Club because it was the cheapest TV that would fit in my TV Cabinet, and I wanted to save money for the time I eventually get a bigger set.
However, I was very surprised by how great the picture on this TV is, and how well laid out the remote is. I was so impressed, I shot off to Sam's Club and bought another one for the bedroom. (It replaced a 22" LCD with viewing angle issues and a very fiddly remote.)
First, the picture, of course, is excellent, even when viewed from an angle. 1080p is stunning, especially when you come from a tube SD TV.
I still have a legacy DIRECTV TiVo, so I'm stuck watching premium and cable shows in Standard Def. When they letterbox an HD show, I can zoom it to full screen, and, the picture looks surprisingly good! (Unless you compare it to any of the HD inputs!) I built a home brew DVR for over the air broadcast (MythTV: Google it.), and I watch all broadcast shows off that, using the RGB port, which looks excellent. (I have some tech issues keeping me from using the HDMI port.)
Now, let's talk about the remote. Nowadays, even amongst some other Vizio models, if you want to use come common functions like Closed Caption or Zoom, you have to navigate through menus to get there, which is a pain if, for example you just want to turn on Closed Caption to catch some mumbled dialog on the TiVo. But, this TV comes with a Vizio Universal Remote Control, that has separate buttons for the features I use the most: Input, Wide (zoom, which is handy for watching Standard Def), Closed Caption (I recommend using closed captions for Americans watching British shows.) I just wish it had a button for RGB.
This is not an LED TV, it's traditional fluorescent back lit, but it is bright, sharp, and vibrant. Unless you're a colorist working in the motion picture industry, I think you'll love this TV if you can find one anywhere.

- AMAZING! Review by Tobogigo

So I was entering my first year of college and i needed a better TV than what I had, it was some little 20in tube tv that I got for free from a neighbor, so i went and looked all over at all the TV's out there. I was originally looking at another TV by VIzio that was a 42" but it was like $675 for a refurbished one, my dad said no. So i looked further and found this one on Sam's Club website, I was amazed at what I would be getting, a 120hz refresh rate, the highest that the human eye can detect, 1080p, the best picture quaility possible right now, smooth motion technology, i still have not seen a difference with that entirely yet but still, and many other things. this is all in a 37" size TV that is only 2.2" thick and i got it brand new from sam's club all for only $534 with a 3 year warrenty! I was sooooooo happy. but as usual they had to play games on me, i checked at it for 2 weeks straight, each day it was "out of stock" and finally after almost three weeks Sam's Club actually took it off of their website! I was sooooo mad because that meant that I would have to settle for a less quality TV but to my luck i checked again one day about a week after they took it off and it was there! i called my dad up and we ordered it right away! No it turns out that I was one of the last people to be able to buy this TV from Sam's Club because they do not carry it anymore! the thing that made me even more mad though was that my family took a ten day trip down to Texas and we had to have it delievered to my grandparents house. I was soooo mad i wanted to get my vacation over with to be able to see my tv! haha all in all though this tv is amazing and everytime my roommate comes back from classes he says, damn i cannot get over how sweet this tv is! Nice Job Vizio!

You know how a diamond is found inside an old dirty lump of cave? It's like searching for a good TV. There are thousands to choose from and it's a headache to find a great one. This set comes along... and not many people have heard of Vizio. I bought mine because of the size and 1080p ALSO the price was insane (as in insanely low!). I thought I'd try it out and if I didn't like it, I'd return it. What ended up happening was I returned my Magnavox which was an overpriced piece of garbage.. and kept the Vizio! I tried to go back and buy a few more for the house but they were gone. The only sad part of this story is that this TV is no longer available. There was also a HUGE surprise that was in front of my face and everyone's face the entire time. This TV is 120hz. If you understand what that means, you'll be blown away by the fact that THAT is what makes an HD TV look absolutely amazing and usually doubles the price. 1080p 120hz is the highest you can get. For this size it's also extremely rare. I hope they decide to start manufacturing this model again and soon. I LOVE my TV. Also for such a unfamiliar name... they produced something as good if not BETTER than a name brand like Sony. THANK YOU VIZIO! You are one of the consumer's best friends. BTW, Great job on this model... it's truly unique and beautiful.

- The right fit Review by SignalBen

Was looking for the right tv to fit into the tv cabinet. Nobody else has this large of a screen that can fit into the 37 inch wide (35.75 inch inside) cabinet. It has a great picture no matter what we're doing (Laptop, DVD, Wii, or XboX). Now I look at the Vizio website to see what will work for my project at home or work before looking at anything else.

My 62" Mitsubishi DLP died the weekend we had 14 house guests and part of our typical family entertainment is to eat, drink, shoot pool... and watch a movie or two. Wasn't going to happen as planned, so we ran down to Costco and thinking I probably could use a new TV in our bedroom, and I'd probably get the big set repaired the following week. I saw this TV's specs and bought it, even though the picture on the display set wasn't great. Actually, all the display sets had a problem with signal so it was a crapshoot. Got the TV home and the setup was too easy. Connected my Direct TV and DVD HDMI cables and BAM!!! WHAT A PICTURE!!! Everyone was stunned. My Brother-In-Law called me today and he's heading to his Costco to pick up a similar Vizio 37" 120Hz set. I also like the fact that this set was thinner than several competitive models from major manufacturers. Think this set is 3.75" thick which makes it nice for the bedroom where it now resides. This set has a great picture, features, and sound... and I think the illuminated logo when you power it up is as cool as my MacBook Pro's illuminated Apple logo on the case. It is not in any way annoying as some folks have said... its COOL!

Review of Vizio SV370XVT LCD TV
December 8, 2009
The Vizio SV370XVT doesn’t look as sleek and refined as some of its peers, but don’t let the appearance deceive you. The set’s crisp, clear picture and above-average onboard sound make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a quality LCD TV in the 30” to 40” range...Read More
