Love my Vizio TruLED! Review by Tom

This is the TV we have been dreaming of for the last six months. Yesterday we bought it and at a special Sam's price of $1597! Can't wait to watch the Superbowl with this wonderful--out of this world--TV. Vizio makes the best LCD TVs on the market. We have three smaller Vizios we enjoy in other rooms but for the living room, this baby takes the cake. It has a beautiful HD picture with black blacks and extreme whites. The colors are so beautifully vivid and true. Needless to say, we are very happy campers.

I got the TV yesterday and immediately awarded it 4.9 stars. The rating went to 5 today after I figured out how to turn off the Tech Logo on the lower left of the set. ( I wonder why Vizio added this feature. It adds to the manufacturing cost while adding nothing to viewing performance.)

I want to thank all the reviewers who proceeded me. It was largely due to your praise that I bought this set . I live in an area where WalMart is the only retailer selling Visios. They didn't have this set, but the picture on the Vizio 55" non-LED bested all competitors in the store display. Coupled with your reviews, I bought this set sight unseen from Amazon -- and got triple reward points on my credit card. All in all, a great deal: the Vizio LED and a bunch of free books for my Kindle.

Unbelievable, Truly unbelievable Review by Anderson

This is our third Vizio tevelivision, and first LED and the realism of the picture is uncanny. Even old black & White movies and T.V. shows take on a whole new perspective. The picture clarity, the color, and the crispness are incredible and have to be experienced. Great price and value aside, Vizio, one again, is without peer !!

BREATHTAKING Review by Sirlumpy

VIZIO has set a new bench mark of TV viewing with the VF550XVT1a.
With the switch to HD broad casting I could not see the difference on my old TV. Then I got the 55inch VIZIO. Well let me say it has been am eye opening experience. There is a sports star that asked the question if sports is shot in HD should it be watched in HD. After he has watch this VIZIO TV; I think he would jump ship and say it should be watched in VIZIO HD.
With this TV allows you to see what the director of movies intend you to see the movie as they see it in their mind. Next you will be asking what I mean by that statement. I don’t care if you’re a Star Trek fan or not but watch the latest Star Trek movie on this TV and you will wonder if you are in IMAX movie theater. Not to mention if you have a video game system such as the XBOX 360. You will wonder if the game is really going on in the room you’re in.
With this TV I ask myself this question, would I go to the movies ever again or just wait to watch it on DVD? As of right now I would say I am staying home. I cannot wait till REDS Baseball. Opps did I give away what area I live?
The remote is easy to use also. Switching between the components that are hooked up to the TV has never been easier.
I have to admit that there is one area that this TV falls short in. Personally I feel it falls flat in the sound. I wonder if this was done on purpose because of the thinness of the TV or so that we would have to upgrade to the sound bar.
That is the only, I mean only thing, negative that I have to say about the TV is the sound. That can be fixed.
As you stand there in front of the bank of TV looking at them. I know that you will keep going back the Sharpness, Great picture, amazing, Clear, and wondering why the other TV are not like this. You would be a fool if you buy another TV because it’s a little cheaper.

amazing picture!! Review by Jerry

I have been doing research on flat panel TVs for the past several months by reading user reviews. Then I would go to various electronic stores and observe. I settled on this Vizio, purchased from Dell by the way. Words cannot describe the clarity of the picture. There are times I feel like I am just looking through a window with the scene on the screen. Watching the NFL playoff games was like being in the stadiums! I have also read complaints about the sound bar attached below the TV. I have my TV mounted on the wall above a fireplace and it looks GREAT! The thing that surprised me is the sound that comes out of the sound bar. I was worried about not having a sub-woofer but you don' t need one. This is a total package and Vizio has created a fantastic entertainment product. Don't hestitate on this one, it's a real winner.

This is our third VIZIO tv and first LED. We replaced our Samsung DLP that had died after 7 years,and it was a wonderful tv;however;it nor any other tv I have encountered can match the picture quality of this tv. Additionally,the PS3 experience has been enhanced.Purchased this unit at COSTCO for a very reasonable price,and will buy another as the need and opportunity presents itself!

First High Def - Love it Review by Beroy

This is the very first HDTV I have owned. We have a Vizio LCD at work, which has been great, but it's 4 years old and doesn't compare well to this new technology. I bought this TV the day before the divisional round of the NFL playoffs and I'm so glad I did. The games looked incredible. I also purchased a Blu ray player the same day. It has internet access for streaming movies and music , so I'm not missing that feature, which I understand a later model of this TV will have. I feel like I made a great choice. This TV has incredible definition, smooth motion and great sound.

just get one. words cannot describe the picture. lots of people say sound is not good its a tv not surround sound but the built in soundbar i think has good sound coming through.i still have samsung 47in 120hz. this set blows it away.

It's like magic to my eyes!! Review by AceR

I own a Vizio for three years. I am extremely satisfied with the quality so I decided to purchase this one yesterday. I am amazed how it is crisp, vivid and brings every single image to life. I spent weeks trying to find something better than this one. Nothing can be compared to this product. I understand it is thicker than the other slim LED TV's, but who cares?? I care about image quality and not how thick it is, so this is why I purchased this one. It satisfied my needs and my family is extremely happy.
If you are reading this and thinking of buying a LED TV, don't think twice!! Go ahead and buy this!! I guarantee that you will not experience a buyers remorse.
