Great option for small rooms Review by xof

I bought one of these used for $50 at a charity auction. It was either hardly used or very well taken care of! Only thing I don't like is that its optical input won't work with Comcasts RNG110 HD box...any suggestions out there?

Otherwise a great product for those who don't want speakers all over the room!!

Can't get the optic to work from cable Review by kiisamiisha

I love this soundbar. But I cannot get the sound to come through the optic cable from my HD box.. It only works from the blueray. I have tried every combination of hook up but cannot figure out why the optic won't work from cable tv only blueray player.

Finally, a sound bar that sounds good! Review by Katt

I was looking for better-than-built-in sound at a bargain price. I really didn't want to sink money into a full blown home theater. My primary requirement was I wanted an optical input so that ALL of my sound (for DVD player, PS3, PC, etc) would come through a single cable. Not so easy to find optical input in this price range! I tried several sound bars in the $100 range and returned each one for various reasons. Then Vizio emailed me as they had this one on sale - so I bit.

Setup was a snap, done in about 5 minutes. The sound is incredible - more than sufficient for my medium sized room. It gets loud enough for a large room. The range is really good even though it has no separate subwoofer.

I did not use the wall mount option, instead it sits in front of the TV. It does sit tall enough that it kind of blocked the infrared "eye" in the TV's lower corner. Easily remedied - I found an appropriately sized wooden tray at a Goodwill store, flipped it over and used it to raise my TV up about 3 inches. Looks like exactly what it was made for, and cost me about $8.

The only "con" would be the TruVolume option. While it works, it is very slow to adjust the volume between TV and commercials so when the feed switches, the volume drops... then gradually adjusts... the slowness was annoying so I simply don't use that option. No biggie to me.

Overall, this sound bar had the best bang for my buck, so I would definitely recommend it.

What a big difference from my TV speakers. This is great for an apartment and you don't want the thunder disturbing the neighbors. Simple install (Vizio included the optical & RCA cable too, NICE). I do wish I had a small sub-woofer.

2 Cons: Getting it to program with Directv remote (RC65RX). Finally got it to work using code 32454 on AV 2, then code 993 while in AV 2. Now I can adjust the volume with the Directv remote. This leads me to Con #2. No light to know when it's turned off. The quick start guide is not much help either.

I was at my local bargain bulk supply chain and seen this soundbar. I thought for what I'm paying I can't expect much, but once I got home and hooked it up I was amazed at the sound quality that came from something so small and without a separate subwoofer. A really great purchase for the money.

Sound from our 42" Vizio LED TV was already good- the sound bar improved volume both volume and sound fullness. Very pleased.
