BEST TV I'VE EVER OWNED Review by 75 STINGRAY

WE BNOUGHT OUR M550SV IN APRIL 2011. WE WERE (DID) MOVE TO THE PHILIPPINES. SO WE WANTED THE BEST TV, WITH THE MOST TOYS AS POSSIBLE. BNECAUSE WE KNEW WE WOULD HAVE TO SETTLE FOR MUCH LESS QUALITY IF WE WAITED AND BOUGHT IT HERE.

WE HAVE HAD "MANY" MBIG SCREENS. THIS IS BY FAR THE CLOSEST THING TO ACTUALLY BEING AT THE MOVIE WHEN IT WAS BEING FILMED, THEN ANY TV OUT ON THE MARKET (at the time). MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT SINCE WE MOVED TO THE P.I.'s, WE DID NOT GET ALL THE FREEBEES (bummer). MY FAVORITE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS TV IS THAT I GET TO LISTEN TO MY FAVORITE RADIO STATION BACK IN SAN JOPSE, CALIFORNIA (KFOX CLASSIC OLDIES).

THANKS VIZIO FOR BEING WELL AHEAD OF ANY OTHER TV IN ITS CLASS, AT A TIME WHEN WE NEED THE BEST (and just about the lowest $$) WHEN WE NEEDED IT.

Happy Happy...So Far, So Good! Review by Steve

Our Sony Bravia (46") picture went out (still had sound), so we went to Costco and did our comparison shopping and settled on the Vizio 55" M55OSL. Set up was a snap. Actually took longer to clean off entertainment center to swap tv's than the setup did. This is only our first day with it, but loving it so far. Remote is cool with the two sided feature but could stand to be a little bigger, but then again I have big hands so I will just learn to deal with it. Good picture quality and sound (just with the tv speaker). The only issue I have so far is that my surround sound thaeatre system does not work (worked weel with our Bravia), but I'll contact tech support and talk to them. I'm sure it's something simple. All in all very pleased with our purchase, no regrets whatsoever. I wouild suggest this tv to anyone.

Outstanding picture quality Review by Eldon

I purchased this TV at Walmart for $1148, and held off writting a review till I had it a few months. I am 75 years old and this is our first flat screen TV. It's absolutely great! We love it. I did considerable comparison before purchasing the VIZIO - M550SV because I felt it's color/picture was equal or better than others including Samsung 6100. And, it was almost $400 less money.
It took me less than an hour to unbox it and set it up. I then phoned VIZIO, and this very nice lady talked me through all the TV set up, which took about 20 minutes. The picture was much brighter and sharper then our old 32" . But then I signed up with DISH TV so I could get HD free for life, and was amazed at how much better HD improved the picture.
I watch a lot of sports (which is why I selected the 240HZ) and it's better than being at the game. The picture is outstanding.
I would definitely recomment this TV.

In March, 2012 COSTCO was selling these for $999.99. Needless to say the flew off the shelf within days. Just wish it was 65" instead of 55" but for what it cost, what the hey!

This is my first HD TV and I couldn't be happier. The picture is great, the set-up was fairly easy and the sound works great also. Some people have noted that they wish the remote was better, but I have found it works great. Got a great deal on it and haven't seen anything that even comes close in price on this TV. Way to go Vizio great TV!

I just bought this tv two weeks ago and coming from watching a 46" dlp all I can say is wow! This tv can't be beat for the price ($999 at Costco ) bluerays look amazing on this set. I have not experienced any of the power issues that have been posted. So $ for $ this is the best tv you can buy with comparable features.

m550sv big step up! Review by arjay

Purchased m550sv 0on 3/8/2012. Took 1/2 hour to get unboxed and operating correctly. Seemed to take a few minutes to 'warm up' to a sharp picture. Since this initial set-up the tv has been great. HD is a huge step up from my panny projection that lasted 12 years. Colors truly vi9brant and clear..and unexpectedly sharp. Sports shows outstanding. Movies an experience not realized before. Watched 'The Exorcist' that night..and never realized the pea soup scene was that shade!..WONDERFUL! Only small concern is the remopte control. Seems I cannot control channels or volume. Will contact Visio to see if it's something I can correct by discussion over the phone. Purchased from Costco alongwith Square Trade 3-year extended warranty. Could not beat the total package from anywhere else than Costco!

Our 37" tv went out and took it bak to Costco. We bought the Vizio 55" 120Hz tv for $899. I loved that tv, but today I saw this tv for $999, since it was Costco, I was able to swap it out. LOVE this tv, excellent picture quality and audio is good too, but I have a surround sound system spit really doesn't matter.

I got my tv from WalMart yesterday for a steal @ $1148! I could not be happier w/the size and the picture but I am suprised w/the quality of the sound as most flat screens fall short on the sound quality...not w/this Vizio! The neatest thing is the text pad on the back of the remote! If you're in the market for a flat screen, DO NOT PASS THIS UP!

I was really impressed with the quality of the picture and to get a 240hz HDTV for $1300 is unreal. I have a few minor quibbles with the set. One is the sync issue with a home theatre set up. My blu-ray player goes from 0 to 120ms and I need to keep the blu-ray player at 120 and still having some sync issues which means i will have to use my felston audio delay which works like a champ. Also the early reviews were saying that thsi TV turned off frequently on its own but Vizio fixed that in the firmware. So in the long run this is a great TV for the money. The HD picture is awsome and is comparable to TVs that are hundreds more. So definately pick this one up.

I just got this Vizio LED at Costco for $1199, I am still blown away by the picture! I tested it with Blueray Disney animated movies, and it is so clear and vivid. I come from using an Infocus projector and 32" TV for the past few years. The clarity is lifelike on this Vizio, highly recommend it, could not be happier!!! So easy to setup, get one, you won't be disappointed.

Completely pleased with my purchase. Bought the TV in May of 2011, and held off on the review so I could get a good use out of it. Great picture, great sound and great value! The only thing I would like to see added in a firmware update is other Apps. The stock ones leave a lot to be desired. Preferably apps such as YouTube, and other more popular ones. But aside from that, a very satisfied customer here.

My wife and I shopped around for several days and spoke with dealers who do not handle Vizio products. I asked them about Vizio and all of them said it was an alright TV. I also noticed there were no customers purchasing their more expensive TVs. I was the only customer in the store, two days in a row.
I went to Wal*Mart and there were a lot of people looking at the Vizio products We have a 37" Vizio and we're very happy with it, so we decided to purchase the Vizio 55" M550SV LED LCD HDTV. Wow....wow...wow...!!! Very easy to set up, very easy to adjust and the picture and sound quality is very, very good. The picture was as good or not better than the higher priced, so called..Name Brands at a store that says it has the "Best Buy"s. Vizio is the way to go. We love it and recommend the Vizio product!

I have owned many HD TV's prior to buying Vizio. The Clarity and Sound are the best I have seen and heard. It blew away my Sony Bravia and Phillip models I have in other rooms. I also picked my Vizio at a Walmart and paid just $1,300. There's no way you will get a 55" HDTV LED / LCD with 1080p & 240hz at that price anywhere else. I'm delighted to have the Vizio in my house. You listen to me .. if you are on the market for a good TV, then get this Vizio, you will remember this post when you get home and plug it in. AMAZING !!

Love it...but Review by PRA7

Vizio is a solid name and it was really a no brainer to pick a Vizio for my new TV. The picture, features are excellent.

My only problem is the Netflix and Amazon video apps do not work (though the same apps work fine on all of my other devices and the other apps on the Vizio work great). There is a lot of feedback about the same issue on the internet and often leads to finger pointing by the vendors. More than likely it is a firmware fix but I was told this TV is not firmware upgradeable.

Again, other than that I highly recommend this TV.

The picture is stunning, but you would think a 55" LED TV with a 240 refresh rate would come with a decent remote control. The remote control is small with numbers that you can barely see to change channels. If I would have seen the remote control-I would have bought another model TV. The remote is a joke. You need to buy a real good universal remote to control all the features.

I picked up this TV at my Walmart and am just THRILLED with it. The picture and clarity are amazing (you'll be blown away if you watch a blu-ray disk on it.) It's priced at least 200 dollars less than other more known brand equivalent TVs.
Stand assembly was easy (they even INCLUDE a phillips head screwdriver in case you don't have one).
I'm still having fun playing with all the Internet Apps on the toolbar (new apps are sent to your TV automatically.) The remote control is cool, with a standard setup on one side, and a QWERTY keyboard on the other.
Friends of mine who own Sony and Samsung TV's cant believe the picture!
I'm so pleased with my purchase.

Was apprehensive as this is my first "big dollar" TV. Bought it at Walmart. Beautiful Picture. Blu-Ray on PS3 is outstanding and when Time Warner gives me a true HD program the picture is phenomenal.
Very pleased so far! 240MHz is awesome, but wish refresh was seamless. Some ghosting on cable channels but that is my signal not the TV. Love the Pandora App. Would also like to see SiriusXM. Nice job, Vizio! Now if your service is as good as the product you have won me over.

I am very impressed with all the features on this HDTV.The slim design,it says under the Tech Specs the wattage should be 82.1 watts usage? WOW!.The picture is great it took a little time trying different settings to select the settings we liked for what we consider a great picture,and this Vizio M550SV delivers!.

This was a gift from my son and his wife who have had HDTVs for awhile now so I would believe they would know something about HDTVs,and after having this HDTV since 5-7-2011 and watching it and using the many great features it has I can confirm their selection was an excellent selection.,and it's alot better than our older 50" RPTV.

The sound provided by the HDTV by itself is plenty loud enough for us during regular programming or watching movies.When I used a flashlight at a angle I can see one round opening and one oblong opening on each side at the bottom.The specs say this HDTV has only 2 speakers,I believe it may have four speakers.The volume goes up to 100,during a movie I don't want to run the volume above 50.

So in conclusion I must say I am very impressed with this product,Vizio's M550SV and I would recommend it to anyone who is ready to upgrade to the wonderful world of High Definition Television with access to Internet Apps.If you buy one enjoy I know I will for years to come.

Got this today. Got it home and hooked it up to my Sat provider and I can't believe the awesome picture that is on this thing. WOW. For the price and features that are in this thing is just perfect. Other TV's that are comparable were at least 250.00 to 300.00 more. I now own 3 Vizio TV's and a Vizio BD player. I'm hooked on Vizio. I work in the TV industry and install cable/Sat for a living and I've seen plenty of brands of TV's and by far I will always choose Vizio and recommend them to all my customers. Take the time to look at the others and then go by a Vizio and you won't regret it.

M5550 SV ROCKS Review by Flatscreener

I just purchased the M550SV from Walmart.

It has the highest picture quality and ease of use. Colors are true and the definition is phenomenal. I like the fact that it's not a bright light bulb that I'm staring at like the LG's in it's class.

Very easy on the eyes, highest quality picture and the internet apps work fast. It's faster than my internet blue ray player.

It's connected to my Comcast cable box so I can't comment on the tuner/guide.

Setup, looks, performance is a high WOW factor.

Can't be beat.

VERY HIGH value for the money!!!!

I replaced my old 56" Samsung DLP after much research. Even though TV broadcasts at 60Hz, this Vizio at 240Hz and high contrast ratio brings out a quality I had not expected or experienced before. Old movies shown on the high definition channels have a 3-D or a live look to them which I find very appealing. Of course my next step is to get Blu-Ray and be more impressed.

I actually exchanged the M550nv For the M500sv.. From what i could see the s.v was better then the n.v having a 2,000,000 :1 ration versus the 1,000,000:1 ratio and a 240hrz refresh rate versus the 120hrz refresh rate. It is aso thinner then the NV. The only difference was the nv had bluetooth and also the remote control could be set up to control your cable box so you could use the cool vizio remote. The sv remote you connot do that, it is a small option that makes a big difference. All in all i was impressed with both t.v.'s and dont really know if i made a good decision in switching them, i just wanted to go with the newer product, but both very good
