I had just recently purchased the TV at my Local Wal-Mart and as it was going to be a discontinued model and last one, I aquired some picture issues days later called customer Service they gave me OPTIONS either send Tech out FREE to repair or send you a NEW TV ( not ) RECONDITIONED, NEW. WOW Vizio is good in my book and will be well talked about . Thank you Vizio Support.

I purchased this TV at Wal Mart in August 2012. I can't say enough "WOW" factor for this unit. Great picture, sound. Like the front fired speakers.
Only complaint is the remote buttons are very small.
No problems with the unit so far. LOVE it!
Great job Vizio!(Posted on 1/2/13)

- Great Review by None

This tv is awesome! Great picture although sometimes I feel like it dosent look like 120hz .. Only some movies have that clear look but on average I don't see a huge difference from 60hz on my old Samsung. Love the apps though and remote is nice .. My bezel around my tv seems very plasticky and loose I don't know if that just mine. I got this for a great deal so that outweighs the cons.

- pleasure to interact with Review by jdh
-
Television is no longer something I just watch for entertainment and information. This TV has changed my perspective to one of interacting with the outside world too. Not only is the sound and picture great; but I have easily learned and customized the TV to my needs. I have found that the Viz-Apps are constantly added to and can also be customized. The remote is fantastic. I was very pleased with the qwerty board on the back.
Some negative (but easily overcome) parts of the TV; 1. the sound seem to emphazise the lower bands of sound so that voices are hare to hear. changing the sound menu to the rock option stopped this. 2. Viz-Apps have a low number limit of what can be added to and 3. the TV remote could be backlite as well.
I would recommend this TV to anyone.(Posted on 9/10/12)
- The only negative is the remote Review by Tracy

I'm certainly not a technology savant and I can't comment on the specs of this particular item. This is my first flat-screen TV. I bought it for a 13' x 18' living room with lots of windows. The picture is great from every chair. The built-in audio is very good. (I liked that the speakers are in the front.)
The only drawback for me is the size of the buttons on the remote and it's not back-lit. I need to make sure my readers and a lamp are nearby.
I would love it if Vizio would let me know when a new remote becomes available.(Posted on 9/3/12)
- Better than samsung Review by shinra
-
Lets begin;
1) Great Price. $598
2) 1080p LED
3) 120 Hz
4) Internet apps (worked better than the apps on the samsung i returned to buy this one)
5) Remote has a Keyboard, unlike the samsung
6) 120 Hz (hehe) The samsung i bought first had "120" clear motion rate, which is NOT 120 HZ!
7) No audible humming sounds on panel
8) Speakers are excellent
9) Same exact price as the Samsung I bought which was promptly returned after 5 days when the speakers started to crackle and humming sound drove me crazy.(Posted on 8/31/12)
- great, few complaints Review by walt

Finally bit the bullet and bought an HD TV. Thrilled with the quality and features of this Vizio.
Three minor complaints. Buttons on remote are too small. Guide info in top right hard to read - should be larger. Warm up time excessive.(Posted on 8/26/12)
- THIS IS TRULY A GREAT TV Review by BIGBOY

Have 39" LG Edgelite. After receiving this 42" Vizio,I moved that to the bedroom. The LG cost more and is way less then the Vizio. Vizio loaded with features, better picture, better sound, better all around. Then LG. I'm a bit sorry I spent so much money the LG. I was under the impression the Vizio was a junk brand because it was sold at Walmart and Costco, But I find this far frrom the truth. This is a wonderful TV in all aspects. Would recommend to all. Fair price for what you get and looks, feels, and performs like a very high quilty product.

- Lovin this one Review by MysTaken1

Paid $628 at Walmart and this is the best picture I've ever had... my only complaint is the letterbox screen leaves a 4" no picture gap top and bottom. But the picture quality and the apps available more than make it up for me.

Ok, I have purchased many LCD's, and have been avoiding LED's.. this one caught my eye for its price, as soon as I got it home and hooked it up (which by the way only takes a few minutes) .. BAMMM .. one of the Transformer films came on in HD and blew me away. This is such great technology, thank you Vizio.
You will be recommended to EVERYONE I know.

Just got this unit, very easy to set up. Out of the box the picture is perfect, still playing with some of the options. Sound is decent for a tv. Internet set up also very easy. Very pleased with M420SL, bought at Walmart online. Would have no problem recomending this tv to others.
