i got this tv for Christmas and i play my xbox on it. With the HDMI cord it make the picture great. My aunt has the 32 in version of this and it is not as good of quality as this. By far if i had to pick between this and the big one i would pick this one. But then again i only play a foot away but is a great desk tv. But is you play xbox/ps3 and you play xbox/ps3 competitively GET THIS TV. Please also visit youtube.com/Bonomo14

I replaced the nearly 15 year old tube-type TV in my bedroom with this TV and I am impressed. I didn't know how much of a difference there would be for picture quality but I love it! I signed up for HDTV and got a Blu-Ray player for Christmas and all I can say is WOW! And as soon as Uncle Sam gets me my tax refund, this won't be the only Vizio TV in my house!

- Still going strong! Review by asteidl

I've had my Vizio 22" for just over a year now (the M220VA model, here), and have been using it as a computer monitor and TV. TV decodes cable great, automatically changes zoom between digital and analog channels. On the computer side of things, have had this TV running almost 24/7 for a year now, with a screensaver (of course!), and the TV (almost said "the tube," LOL) is still going strong. I also have a VCR (yes, that's right, a Video Cassette Recorder) hooked up, and an X-Box (not a 360). Oh, and a DVD player with so-called "HD Upscaling." Will be getting a Blu-Ray player soon, with Netflix capability, maybe give my computer a rest, LOL. The 22" size is perfect for my RV, that I live in. Also, I like the small (<1") border around the screen. My neighbor has a 22" LCD, it has a 3" border around the screen, he can't fit it in his entertainment center!
Anyhow, after a year of owning this TV, I still say, IT ROCKS! For the price (I paid less than 300 for it), full HD picture, connectivity options, and endurance, I highly recommend this TV for anyone needing a HD "tube" in 22" size.
Vizio, FTW!(Posted on 6/11/11)

- Great set, with one fatal flaw Review by Liz

We evaluated this TV alongside an equivalent model Samsung. My father is an avid fan of Vizio products, and I of Samsung, so I figure together we probably gave both a fair shot. ; )
We paid $280 for the Samsung and $240 for this Vizio. We ended up choosing the Samsung, but not for a reason that would apply to most people, as we were considering them for installation in a client's office on monitor arms.
Picture Quality:
Side-by-side at out-of-the-box settings, this model was just as good as the Samsung. Crisp, clear, and bright. About the only edge the Samsung had was very, very slightly better richness in the colors. There was certainly not $40 worth of difference.
Sound Quality:
We didn't test this (had to go through DVI to HDMI adapters as our test computer did not have HDMI) but from our experience with other Vizio TVs, I would wager that it is just fine.
Other:
The build quality seemed fine. We didn't throw them around or beat on them or anything, but the Vizio felt a little sturdier. The Samsung kinda looked a bit nicer, and its case was the kind that made scratches less noticeable, but that would hardly have been a deciding factor.
Unfortunately, what made us have to go with the Samsung in the end was the power cable. This Vizio has a built-in one, which for normal use is not a big problem. For us, though, it's a big no-no. We can't replace them ourselves in the case of one going bad or getting damaged. Most importantly, the monitor arms require power cables longer than the ones that come with this set.
So to conclude, I guess: if you aren't installing this on a monitor arm, or if you don't commonly have issues with damaged power cords, you will probably be very happy with this set. : )
But please, please, Vizio, no more built-in power cables! They have cost you the sale of 7 TVs today that we would have really liked to give to you! : ((Posted on 4/12/11)

5 Star ***** Rating
I've had this for a little over 6 months and I have to say I am more than satisfied. I think you should advertise that you are an American Company on the front of box. I'm proud to say this was Designed in the USA. Picture blows away Sony and keeps up with Samsung and LG if not surpasses! Speakers could be more powerful, sound quality is great just needs a little amp nothing a sound bar wouldn't fix. I use it as my monitor also only reason I didn't get a bigger one.
Keep up the great work!(Posted on 4/10/11)
- Buy the TV, but don't expect good sound. Review by JoeM

I just bought the22" M220VA at our local Walmart store. Had trouble fitting the base to
the TV. Went back to Walmart and found a sales rep. that had experience on how to apply the base. He had to use most of his strength to put it on. The picture is very good,
but the sound system needs work by your staff. Many of your review people had to add
speakers to improve the sound. My 19" Magnavox has very good sound. All in all it is a good unit. I am using it in the kitchen area.(Posted on 3/7/11)

This TV makes the 3rd Vizio in our house. We caught this baby by waiting online all night for Walmart to roll it back to $198.00. At 5:00 a.m. in the morning we hit checkout, and it arrived two days later. We already have the 55", and the 37", and this 22" is for the master bedroom. Our other two sets are 1080, and this one is 720p, but still not a bad picture. Thanks Vizio,we love your products, and this is the only brand we trust for LCD/LED TV's.

- Delighted with this TV Review by vizio4evr

My wife bought this tv for me for Chrstmas. I had been checking Comsumers Report for some time reading the reviews of Vizio as a whole. Now that I own one, I can see what all the talk has been about. It is without a doubt the clearest, brightest TV I have ever owned. Even better than our New Panasonic 50" Plasma. I would also advise getting a TV wall mount and a Vizio Sound Bar, with or without the sub woofer. What a great improvement. So, If you have been considering a Vizio product, go ahead and take the plunge. Like me, you'll most likely be happy you did.

My wife bought the 22" Vizio, a wall mount tilting system, and the sound bar alone for me for Christmas.. I am totally blown away with the performance of this system. I am seeing things on the TV that I have never seen before. Facial features, skin tones, etc.
This is my first Vizio products, but after reading the reviews in Consumers Reports, I felt "Why not give it a try". Am I ever glad I did. These are very impressive products. Best electronics purchase we have made in a long time. Could not be happier. .(Posted on 12/17/10)
- Great HDTV with enough features for under $200.00 Review by Suntop Kinseeker
-
This is a very cheap LED HDTV. Now it is not perfect but it works and does what I need it to do. However it is 22" which isn't a bad thing to play games and movies on for a college student. Not only does it double as a TV, it also can be used for a Computer Monitor. It has 2 HDMI inputs which is more than enough. If your laptop/desktop has a HDMI out, use it. This will look clearer than RGB since it is digital vs analogue and it will route sound from the system to the TV. You can rename your devices, you can hook up an USB chip to view photos. It is lacking video playback but for under $200.00 Vizio has a real winner. Now what I do not understand is why is the 22 inch the only one that can do FHDTV 1080p, the 20 and 26 inch models do not do this so If you have the money go for the 22". X-Box 360, Ps3, Wii will look good on this tv. 1080p looks crisp and clear, this works with the PS3 and X-Box 360 since Nintendo decided to limit it to 480p.
The QAM, MPEG-2 and VSB8 standards makes it very simple to scan on the cable system and if they offer the basic channels in QAM or MPEG2. Most all cable companies offer music channels which you can receive, in the case of some Wavecable system in Washington state you can get several of the unscrambled channels such as the locals, and Discovery HD Theater. (Now mind you Discovery HD Theater planet earth on a TV in 60hz at 1080i on my dead samsung looked awesome, in 1080p/24Hz PS3 Blu-Ray hands down looks the best. I haven't the chance to try it on this television, but I will.
This is a excellent upgrade for a teenager since it is under $200.00 and is big enough for most kids to play their games on it. The Adaptive Lighting is useless for games, the fast response is good for games/blu-ray/progressive scan sources. I keep it on all the time, now you won't notice this on tv.
Only downside is the remote buttons I only had this television for 2 weeks now and the Menu/Ok Button text came off with use. Button works but it is blank.
Playing Progressive scan DVDs are great however without fast response on you may notice a little chopping.
This is a winner and Vizio is up and coming.

- Great for a Gamer's Bedroom Review by Guy
-
I recently purchased the M220VA to replace an SDTV that I was using as my gaming television (I am convinced that the gaming industry has its hands tied up with the HDTV market, with the tiny print thats unreadable on a SDTV with the games that have been released in the last few years).
So far I am impressed with the quality that I am receiving from this lil' set, especially since I got it for the great price of $199.98.
The picture is bright and crisp as I play my XBOX 360 at 1080p. The colors are vibrant and the contrast is amazing.
If you do decide to buy this TV be sure to disable the Adaptive Lighting feature and enable Dynamic Contrast Ratio (DCR).
My only disappointment with the set is that you can't adjust the position of the television. It sits at a slight angle upward causing the picture to become difficult to see if viewed from below.
All in all it is a great investment for the money if you are looking for a crisp picture to play your next gen consoles and/or pc games with.

We just purchased our TV and we absolutely love it We put this tv in our bedroom and plan a purchase of a larger sized screen for our living room.
I had looked at another set, but even my Dad called me and told me that I should purchase the VIZIO because he likes the brand. So, that's what we did....it looks great, is brand name we trust and the price was great.(Posted on 11/27/10)
- Almost Perfect Review by Ghundi
-
I rate this television excellent for styling, reception, picture quality, low power use and being user friendly. By design the screen is tilted back a couple of degrees, so sitting on the floor looking up at the screen doesn't work. The side viewing angle isn't that great either. I wish it could tilt forward a bit. For me, the sound through the speakers leaves a lot to be desired. Flat panel televisions just don't have room for decent speakers. I use headphones and the sound is very good. Overall, this is a great value.

Purchased this TV from WalMart for my father. He had a very small space to place a television and wanted a very clear screen. With his DirecTV box and the 1080P support of this little Vizio, he is absolutely amazed at how his baseball and football games look!!! This was our first time purchasing a Vizio and I was impressed from the way it was packaged all the way to seeing it perform. GO VIZIO !!!

This TV is absolutely beautiful. I purchased the 22" just to play my video games in HD, and this model offered the most benefits for the price. It was also one of the few 1080p screens available at my local Walmart. It had everything that I was looking for: 1080p definition, computer hookups, and a great price.

I am using this little TV in my motorhome - does it all ... it is a big monitor for my little netbook, picks up regular TV off the air, hooks in nice to Direct TV sat.. I revived the Vizio 22'' LED HDTV only two days ago and i am already glued to it, if you had to compare this to Song it will win every time. And the HD is true HD, not the 720 that you would regularly find. And in this economy you kind find such a premium product at such a modest price.
