- Firmware upgrade fixed my sound issues also Review by Johnm93359
-
I had the exact same experience as the Review by zuniboy.
Outside of some spontaneous reboots, my main issue was the sound quality. I also was going to try the optical link with a sound-bar. I hadn't found one that met my price/performance needs. I just got the firmware update and am very pleased with the sound. I haven't played with the settings yet, but love the new fuller sound. Hopefully, the upgrade will also fix the reboots.
I am thrilled, its been a long wait.(Posted on 1/13/12)
- Amazing TV Review by Chilinmichael

Just got this a few days ago as a refurb from Overstock...this is truly an amazing TV. It has so many apps it's unheard of. You'll need a few updates if it doesn't come up to date, but it has so much. Pandora, Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter...goes on and on. Display is superb, I don't even use Cable anymore, it's strictly internet and it does it very well. Great remote and tons of options...I've heard some complain there is no EQ well there is, you need to read your manual. Endless picture adjustments as well, SRS enhancements for the sound, etc. It seems to be they may have stopped making this, which I hope not. This was the only internet-apps tv I could find that fit perfectly for my bedroom and I'm glad I got it.

- Update fixes the sound Review by zuniboy
-
I thought I was the only one that had issues with the sound quality, especially out of the headphone jack. I use a plain old plug to RCA connecter to hook it up to my shelf system (nothing fancy), and it sounded decent, but I noticed that when you changed the input or first turned it on, the audio output would be "loud" for about a second and then become much quieter, as if it was acting as a line-out perhaps.
Anyway, it was frustrating because if I used the music apps (like Pandora), the sound out of the tv sounded awful, pretty much like computer desk speakers. I was about to try an optical to RCA converter, but before I could get one, my TV alerted me that a firmware update was available. So i did the update (Dated December 2011), and as SOON as the tv restarted, the audio out was MUCH louder, and sounded much better as well. I'm not sure if anyone else out there noticed the same sound issues, but if you haven't done the update, it might fix the audio, it sure has for me.(Posted on 1/4/12)
- Great Picture, Bad Sound Review by Bob
-
Excellent Picture from this TV. The WIFI works great. For a place with no cable or dishes, the apps are very welcomed. The only problem is the sound. Very poor quality coming form the speakers as well as the headphone, audio out. As with a previous reviewer, it sounds good for a split second when adjusting, then goes back to the poor quality.

- SUPERB OVER ALL QUALITY Review by MrPhats
-
I bough this tv back in March (its now November) and have simply been in love with it. The picture and the screen resolution is awesome. On my PS3 Mag looks incredible, and the picture is good enough I sometimes forget Im playing a game. Whether watching football or a movie in HD he pictcher quality is the same, absoluting amazing. And Blu ray is phenomenol. I love everything about this tv including VIA(Vizio Internet Aps). The TV was a breeze to set up, and looks great in my bedroom. I've had it both wall mounted and on its stand. The switch from one to the other is pretty easy. One thing I do agree upon with some of the other reviewers is the sound. It's a little lacking. A surround sound, audio bar or even some computer speakers hooked up via the headphone jack) will boast the sound exponentially. Other than that this tv is a great deal. I deal I must confess I almost did not part take in. My sister who used to work at national rent to own place kept trying to steer me away from Vizio ( she thinks shes more tech minded then she really is). I knew my father Had vizio tvs, and although I didnt not watch tv on them often, I remember him having one for almost a year before purchasing his second one. I figured it couldnt be that bad if my father would purchase another. So i took a roll of the dice on the great price of the tv, did my online order and have been pleasantly pleased ever since. If you're looking for a great tv at an affordable price this is the one for you, if you just got money to burn, just get a bigger version. :)
O ya did I forgot to mention I also have this tv hooked up to my computer( dual output video card in my computer) for those days I wish to watch a digital download movie. And the picture is just as good.(Posted on 11/11/11)

- Great for mobile applications Review by Steve
-
My wife and I travel all over the country and were looking for a way to get TV programs we had missed along the way. This TV was a great solution. We can stream missed shows and movies through our Mobile Hot Spot wirelessly using the WiFi and providers Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, etc. The quality of the picture and set is great as well. The sound isn't an issue for us because I output to a surround sound system although bass response could be better. I highly recommend the set for everyone, but especially for anyone who travels and can put the internet apps to good use.

- Very Good Plus Review by Tom
-
Excellent picture and great value and functionality for the money. I'm happy with everything except the sound from the tiny (tinny?) speakers. Furthermore, the most recent firmware download removed the equalizer options, which didn't seem to help much anyway.

- great TV with a few glitches. Review by Nikos
-
PROS: Screen quality is great and durable ( had a shelf fall of the wall and hit the screen little scratch but the screen didn't break. internet streaming "Netflix" great too.
CONS: Sound thought the earphone plug is very bad, doesn't matter what you plug in it, how high the bass setting is, it sounds the same "BAD", this is a software issue, because as you change the settings (bass up or down) for that split second you her the bass and then it's gone again, every time i start a movie first second has bass and then it's gone again.
Till Vizio fixes this software issue, i would recommend the vizio optical sound bar.
and some times it freezes and the screen restarts, that has gone much better since a update done a wile ego.
as for the pc resolutions 1360 x 768 doesn't work even thought it's in the specs your choices are 1024 x 768 or 1920 x 1080.
would i buy an other well ... i have 3 so "NO", but I do recommend it .
hope vizio reads this and fix the audio problem .

- Good but lacking Review by Pops
-
I have to say that for the price and features, you can't lose. I would like better features like
usb input and bluetooth and dual band for starters. If it is in your budget, I would advise
getting a better model with the options you need. The 26" is perfect in size for my needs
and the picture is sharp with rabbit ears. The sound is fine and wifi is great but limited.
Overall for the price and quality I have to give 5 stars.(Posted on 3/24/11)
- Great Value Review by Nae
-
I bought this TV at the end of Feb at Costco for $269 for the bedroom and did not realize it was such a great price until the next week when the price went up. The 2nd year extended warranty Costco is now offering for free made it even a better deal This is a great TV with a great picture. I love the apps esp Netflix and Amazon on Demand. I have not noticed a problem with the sound that several posters have mentioned. In fact I like this TV so much I went back and bought a 32 inch with the same tech spec. for the living room. Two Vizios in less than a month with great deals from Costco.

- Great buy! Review by Golden Lover
-
I wanted a smaller HDTV for our office, and have been looking at this one at Sam's Club for sometime. Went up two weeks ago, and there were only two left, so purchased one...thank goodness I did, as the next shipment of the same HDTV priced this model at $135 more! Good price ($257), super picture, right size for the office...I can sit in my chair, stand up, sit across the room or on the floor with the dogs, and the picture doesn't "go darker" like some sets. My only complaint is the sound -- not great. But from reading some other reviews, I'll simply purchase one of the sound systems suggested. We have several Vizios, and one Sony -- the Vizios are just as good, if not better, than the Sony -- and the price is much easier on the pocket book! Would definitely recommend this HDTV!

I bought the 1080p 22" model in 2009, & I was sold on Vizio, so I gave that TV to my daughter & bought this one from Sam's Club, $278. February 5,2010. I said $278, what an amazing value. I use it for my computer Xbox 360 & PS3, & not only does Bluray movies look amazing but my games look great. I was concerned about the 8ms refresh rate but I haven't noticed any ghosting on games, or movies. some may not know this but make sure you turn on the game button in the menus as it is supposed to smooth out fas moving objects on the acreen & keep clear. I was blown away by this TV as I was looking for something 24-28" & cheap just for my gameroom, & this is an amazing value. I went back to Sam's last week as I was going to buy another one for my master bedroom, & they were sold out at every store in central Florida so I order on online, this week. The Sam's sale is off & now the price is $368, glad I got my second one for $278.

- Good TV-Inexpensive Audio Upgrade Review by RJ
-
This Television looks excellent with a 1080p video input source. The sound coming from the tiny speakers sounds adequate at best, but there is an excellent inexpensive audio upgrade for about $100.00 that significantly elevates the sound and viewing experience!
I added an M-Audio AV30 that you can pick up from Best Buy for $99. http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MAudioAV30.html
The sound is excellent and I don't believe you can achieve a greater all around audio upgrade for less money. Now I am extremely satisfied with the viewing experience as a bedroom solution!(Posted on 2/25/11)
- Love this TV Review by MB

I got this TV for my bedroom. I had a first generation flat screen but it was fullscreen only, so when a widescreen movie came on it was downsized considerably. I wanted a true widescreen. I also wanted Netflix.. With the Vizeo Razor LED I got both (and am loving it). I didn't think that the picture on my old TV was bad, but after watching the clarity of this screen, no way I'd ever go back. And I've saved money since I've been able to drop some of the extra bells and whistles with my cable company due to my now being able to get Netflix. Sam's had it a great price as well, so more money saved. The sound isn't bad with surround sound turned on (it's just for my bedroom). However I'm thinking of getting the 37" for another room and would probably invest in the soundbar. BJ's has it for a good price. Some may argue that Sony or Samsung has a slightly better picture (but I'm not so sure of that). Anyway, for the price you can't beat this TV. Vizeo gives far more value for the money.

- IT DOESNT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! Review by JOE BONES
-
I purchased the m261vp on amazon and was a little sketchy about the whole ordering televisions online thing, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Tv is AMAZING! the internet applications are the best I have seen. I hate to say it buy I work at a MAJOR electronic retail store that does not carry VIZIO. After all my training and knowledge of almost every major television company I must say I wish I could sell VIZIO at my job. I simply love the tv and I am definetly planning on purchasing a larger tv for my living room in the near future. If you are unsure about what brand to buy, I can tell you that VIZIO will utterly blow you away with the qaulity of thier products and the excellent customer service that I have so far dealt with. Do the right thing and buy a VIZIO!

- The best HDTV in it's class Review by Kev
-
I've had this TV for just over a week and a half and I absolutely love this it!! This is the first TV I've bought in over 9yrs and I had originally bought this to use as a computer monitor in my recording studio (replacing a 19" LCD) and not only does it make an excellent computer monitor, it is also an awesome HDTV!!
While doing my research, I compared a lot of Sony, Samsung, LG and Phillips models and then a friend told to me to look into the Vizio brand and I was completely blown away by the overall quality, ease of use, and feature set they bring to the table. I bought this TV and have no regrets whatsoever! Set up was super easy and I have yet to make any adjustments to the picture or sound and it still outshines everything I was considering beforehand. I will be buying Vizio TV's from now on as they are my #1 choice in HDTV's hands down.

My children broke there TV and we decided to go look for a better on that could be mounted that was not really expensive and we stumble a cross a display TV that had it posted for around 230 dollars. It said Vizio and i figured why not we have never had a problem with our 37" Vizio up stairs had it since 2007. I get the tv home and mount it on the wall this time so the baby's can't reach it on a swivel. I look up the specs for the wall mount and i find all of these amazing perks. We got super lucky for the price we paid. So we are very happy and the kids love it. Netflix is the way to GO.

My son and I were looking for a replacement for an aging 19" Sony for the kitchen countertop. The choices were just too much...too much hype, too much info, too much technical overload.
My son, 14, found the 26" Vizio and said, "Dad, this has EVERYTHING you need!"
He was right. Great picture, very sharp, Netflix for streaming video.
Better pic than my 47" LG HDTV.

Picture is great, VIA is great, size is great.
The two problems I have noted are; the long delay when changing channels and the size of the font for the channel numbers. I like my channel surfing and being able to read the channel number from 15 feet away. Fix this and everything would be great.

- Best TV Ever Review by Jason
-
Best TV Ever. Did a lot of research into TVs for some time. I found out that most Best Buy type employees know crap and steer you into the wrong price direction as well. In fact all most everyone I talked to is a moron, including family. They assume that a 40 in or bigger is the way to go. Without looking into room size, viewing angles or the right type of TV for them. Just because a TV is on sale for certain low prices doesn’t mean it’s a good deal. They fail to look in to any of the spec for their televisions. I have friends and family constantly telling me how awesome my picture is on my TV. I tell them how my TV is an LED LCD TV and that its capable of displaying blacks and whites better. That a higher contrast ratio you have the better. The higher resolution, lower response time, and more colors the better. Most people I know assume that your cable provider sends the signal out in high def. But don’t know that it’s compressed signal. It takes more than just an awesome TV to really get a true High Def experience, but the coolest thing about this TV is the Internet. Just open up you VIA dock app for Vudu and just watch a trailer for a movie in true high def over the net. You’ll be blow away by the sound and picture quality this TV provides for a low price. I purchased mine for $320.00 from Sam’s Club. Going back to buy an even bigger one for media room. I love this TV.

PROS:
Here's a TV that got everything right. The picture is the best i've seen. Some of the other new LED LCD TV's of this size are too color-intense, making the picture look fake. This has rich, realistic color and black blacks.
The Sound is by-far the best i've heard in any smaller flat panel. Most others have tinny echo-in-a-can sound and not much volume. This TV produces rich even audio, even at very high volumes. We're using this TV with a treadmill (loud). Works great.
Chassis, buttons and connectors are very good quality. The unit's appearance is very subdued and classy in piano black. There's nothing about the TV that jumps out. The Brand logo is subtle, there's only one light - a power indicator - and its a soft white color. Buttons are hidden, but easily accessable.
The internet apps and WiFi are incredible. I just watched an HD movie on Netfix wirelessly. Worked perfect. If you've got rooms in your house or apartment where you can't put in networking, and don't want to have a cabinet full of electronics like media players, this TV is perfect. Just hang it on the wall, get it electricity and you're on the internet watching media. Vizio's VIA has the most robust collection of viewing apps I've ever seen. More than the newest options from any of the "Brand Names".
CONS:
This TV is better than I could have ever imagined. I better come up with some cons so everyone doesn't think I work for Vizio, so here are 3 cons:
#1 - The TV comes packaged with protective plastic all over the bezel, but be careful of the screen during wall installation, because there is no protective plastic on the screen itself. The bezel plastic fools you into thinking the screen is protected too.
#2 - This TV uses an external power brick. This means if you're wall-hanging the TV, you've got to find a place for the Brick.
#3 - To hang on the wall, you have to remove a stub that's on there for the TV stand. The stub has 2 hidden screws - you have to snap a plate off the stub to find the hidden screws. The directions in the manual are very poor about how to get this stub off the TV.(Posted on 1/4/11)

The built in antenna searched and found 9 HD channels in the channel search without an antenna. Picture quality is beautiful. Contrast ratio is no Bull. I have a 60" Sony that doesn't even come close to the sharpness of this TV. Great Job Vizio! You've got a loyal Vizio customer here now.
I might just order another one to put in the bedroom of the RV.(Posted on 8/25/10)
