This TV is fantastic! we just re-did our basement family room after it was destroyed by hurricane Sandy. We put in this 70" Vizio. Fantastic picture and a fantastic deal at Costco.
Use the CNET calibration numbers for BEST picture.
And don't forget to get the Costco extended warranty for $99- that's FIVE FULL YEARS of warranty!

My wife and I just love this TV. The best purchase and worth while purchase we have made in a long time. We got the surrond sound system as well hooked up and the color and razor sharp picture is so crystal clear. We notice especially some of the animated kids shows are unbelieveable. Great product!!!!!!

Bought an ONKYO HT-S3500 5.1 during Black Friday (11/26/13) from Newegg (I love it). Had the system setup with the speaker wires ran in the wall and the entire room painted. AV Cables are hidden behind the wall as well and ran down to the dresser (best idea EVER!). Bought a wall mount around the same time from monoprice along with some cables. Months later (4/5/13) me and my nephew go to Best Buy to bring this puppy home! I had to wait so long because of opening another business but it was well worth it.
Good thing I have a sound system cause although the speakers in the TV are decent they just don't feel the same even though the sound quality isn't bad. I have a 52in Aquos in the den that has incredible built in sound so I compare it to that. I only have it up half way while watching Netflix using the app. I ordered a Optical Audio cable from monoprice to get the TV to output directly to the sound system.
WiFi is fast (I have 802.11n APs throughout the house) the and the apps will save me the money i was going to spend buying a Mac Mini. Which i still may do for other reasons.
Also consider a Logitech Harmony remote for all your devices. The best handheld is the Harmony One (no RF) or harmony 900 (RF Included) but i love the look and feel of the Harmony 1100. The 1100 is older but still works with all the new devices.
Definitely buy the service plan where ever you get the TV from! Got a two year on site plan through the geek squad.
Owned it for a day so far and it just makes my room look better. Don't settle for less its at a price point that is irresistible.(Posted on 4/7/13)

Our whole family was awe struck by this picture! After a few days the tv got huge vertical bars in the center. I called the customer service and was amazed at their politeness eagerness to help. They sent us a new tv right away, and this one is perfect!
Our kids are still wowed by the detail and sharpness of this tv. This tv is worth every penny to us, and we are more than satisfied with our tv and Vizio.
We also have 2 other 32" Vizio tv's that also have superb pictures and have given years of flawless service. Which is why we bought their brand again.(Posted on 3/24/13)

We just got our new 70 " razor LED Vizio. I was simply astounded at the quality of the picture. The first verbiage out of my wifes mouth was "it looks like its 3d". I agreed. Such clarity of picture I have not seen on any TV in any store.
The only negative I could possibly think of, is the size of the remote control, and its layout. Kindof small, and hard to see the print on the buttons in darker rooms (like when you are watching TV).
But once you learn the remote, no big deal.
I cannot recommend this TV more for quality of image. Nothing beats it.

I had bought a Sharp 70 inch TV at Best Buy and got it home and it was broken. One side of the screen was distorted and the other was fine. Best Buy could not replace it and offered little help in solving the problem. This TV was offered at Sam's for a great price, but went to the Vizio Website and found it for almost the same price, with free shipping, and no state taxes. I already have a Vizio, and have been happy with it, but don't use it much. I did further checking and bought the 70 inch on line with Vizio. Two days later I got an email from Vizio that they dropped the price another $100.00. I contacted Vizio and they, without hesitation, honored the lower price.
I was a little concerned about this TV also arriving in a broken state, but if it did I did not have to haul it back to the store. However, the shipping company was wonderful. It arrived in good condition and they even set the TV up for me.
I have had the TV a week now and watched the Super Bowl on it. It has a great picture and I really love it so far. The features are very nice, but have not set up the Smart TV yet. I replaced a 52 Inch Sony, which was very nice, but thought I wanted something bigger. I would highly recommend the Vizio and the company has been great. I even got the extended warranty through the Vizio Website at a reduced price. Best Buy wanted $200.00 for two years and Sam's $159.00. I got three years for $89.00. Sam's still offered this set for $50.00 less than Vizio, but with the no state taxes and the lower cost of the extended warranty, this was a best buy! This set is well worth it even at the original price. I was not really sold on the Sharp anyway, so things worked out for the best.(Posted on 2/8/13)

I got this tv to replace my old tv. I looked at a lot of websites and found this tv. Now that I have it home I am glad to have got it. The picture is a lot better than my old tv. It was a little harder to set up than my old tv, but I am getting better at it. I am not really into 3D yet. But when I do I WILL get a VIZIO.

I've owned two 73" Mitsubishi DLPs prior to this new Vizio. My second Mits Diamond just blew up on Christmas Eve, and as I had 15 nieces and nephews coming over for the holiday, I bought this guy in a desperate last minute snap decision over the Sharp from Costco.
Let's just say, as disappointed as I was that my Mits, which cost over $4K five years ago, blew up, this set is so superior in every way that I'm not missing the old one.
A few suggestions...
CNET has calibration setting suggestions on their site for this television, and I think they are spot on.
Another suggestion...I am using a Darbee Darblet video processor (available from Amazon) and the video detail and nearly perfect 3D effect that it produces is a killer combo with this television. It's like looking out of a window!
I also want to commend Vizio for the applications included with this TV. We watched "Rango" today steamed in from Amazon prime and it was breathtaking!
This is my fourth Vizio TV now (the others are smaller models in the bathrooms and kitchen) and I've always been blown away by what Vizio can do at a reasonable price point.
But don't buy this 70" just for it's attractive price...buy it because it's an excellent television!
A last word about Costco...for an extra 99 bucks, they offer a full five year warranty on this set. Too bad I didn't have that from Abt Electronics or Mitsubishi...this customer is a Vizio guy now.

This TV is one of the many products that Vizio offers that not only does what it's supposed to, but does it well. I can't begin to tell you how much of an expert I am with electronics.
Long story short, if you are considering this television, then you should be buying it.
Picture, quality, weight, footprint, setup, audio, all excellent.
I will no longer buy other brands as long as Vizio exists.
Superior Quality, at Knock off prices. Can't be beat.

I was set on buying a sharp 70 inch tv. Wanted the higher model with 3D for the 240hz. I did not want the 3D. Drives me crazy:) Was up early for black Friday to get the 70" sharp at Sam's Club and it was not on sale??? Tried to get the vizio 65" for doorbuster price $998 but I was a obviously a little late getting in line outside the warehouse. I was very sad :( I figured let's try Costco. They opened a little later and was #7 in line at the door. I went inside and the vizio 65" was $1259. Was contemplating when I looked to my left and saw boxes for the 70" vizio on sale for $1499. Shooved that big box on my cart and went up to pay. Got home, set up (with help putting this big guy on the wall) and programmed all my remotes to my direct tv remote. Was so happy with this TV and picture. Blue ray and Satelite high defenition was great! Have not played with the settings yet but very satisfied so far. This is my family room and main TV for the house. Big movies will still be mostly on our 106" HD projector in the theater room. I am extremely happy with my purchase so far. I would definetly recommend this TV. Beautiful !!!!!!

I saw this TV at Costco on black-friday. The picture looks lot better than the Sharp 70" TV, the colors look more natural on the this TV than Sharp. Also aesthetically this TV looks so much better than it's 65" siblings (which in my opinion have a really boring look) but i still ordered the 65", 3D from amazon (currently back-ordered, with expected ship date is Dec, 24, 2012) only because the 70" version come with 3D else I would immediately buy this TV. Oh by the way the 70" has matte screen unlike other vizios which have super glossy screens.
IF VIZIO COMES OUT WITH A 70" 3D TV BEFORE THE SHIP DATE OF MY ORDER OF 65" 3D TV, I'LL CANCEL MY ORDER ON AMAZON AND BUY THE 70" 3D. Are you listening Vizio?
