Great TV for a great price. I boguht it at Sam's Club for $598. I boguht it to watch movies and TV shows in my garden as it requires no cable connections to stream TV programs and movies. I also use it as a computer screen with my Mac. USB outlets don't work yet but according to some reviews they will be operational by the end of this year with a firmware update. I like everything about this TV. It's the best one I've ever owned. Netflix, Vudu, Amazon VOD work without a glitch. It has a bluetooth connection for a remote and headsets. I don't understand the other reviewer who couldn't watch Netflix on it. It works great with this TV but you need a subscription to Netflix to be able to use it. Vudu movies stream in various resolution and you pay per movie. Again, you need to sign up online with your credit card to be able to use it.

I posted a review here about a year ago. I'm in the market for a smaller TV for the bedroom and was back on this site because this TV still WOWs me everyday. I don't see too many of these on any of the shelves anymore (it's out of stock online here as well). It looks like it was a real crowd pleaser. From the looks of the other reviews here, I'm going to guess they couldn't make enough. I hope their smaller models are just as impressive. The set is still great and I have had a few updates through VIA which comforts me knowing that they are still taking the time to support the product.

I've been a High End Audio sales person, and semi-geek with electronics for years. The TV I purchased has all the earmarks of a High End component. If your looking for bells and whistles & pops this Television has all that and more.

Right out of the box I was impressed by the sleekness and craftsmanship of the unit as well as the stand design. There was a glitch in getting it setup, but the professional staff at Vizio support took care of my problems in short order. The TV has every possible amenity a avid sports fan could desire. It preforms flawlessly over a range of operations. I'm very happy with my purchase and recommend this product for use with High End Audio equipment as it's center piece in a home theater setup.

It's hard to believe I've had this wonderful television a year now. Thank all of you who have been in contact with me after reading my first review. I have learned a great deal and hope all of you have as well. Others feel free to contact me and I will send you the info I have compiled with you.

I continue to be blown away by this TV. It is by far the most sophisticated I've ever owned. I am still 100% happy with it. This model has a large number of adjustments. It can be a little intimidating at first glance. I notice many people here wondering where to begin adjusting the picture. I bought a calibration DVD to assist in setting mine up. I also found three sites that had published settings.

We've had this set for 3 days and am EXTREMELY satisfied with it. The quality and picture are AMAZING!! We normally don't post reviews on products but this one is worth it. Extremely easy to navigate features and setup. I was having difficulty with connecting to wifi so I called tech support. They were awesome to work with and spoke real english. The problem was me not the set. I was inputting the wrong 10 digit code. Purchased from Sams club at a closeout price.

After years of waiting and extensive research we decided this was the set. Love the internet apps.

Let me help you with your decision...BUY IT. You won't be disappointed.

Review of Vizio M47NV Review by Vibe Vandal

OK, here goes an honest review.

Purchased tv in Jan 11 in PA (Sam's Club, amazing deal at $795 on sale). Shipped to VA due to move (never even took it out of the box). Moved into new place and immediately called cable company. Cable company arrived, took tv out of the box for the first time. In awe of the look of the tv, picture quality was top notch, hookup was a breeze, connected to wireless network, and i was up and running.

Now to the speed bumps. TV remote would stop working all together every couple of days and the only way to re-set the tv was to manually unplug the set from the back of the tv (for some odd reason, unplugging at the power strip didn't reset the tv). This is a real pain in the arse and heavily annoying after about two weeks. The wireless internet connection would often "lose connection" requiring me to have to unplug and re-plug (simply searching for a wireless connection yielded ZERO results) even though my laptops were still accessing wireless with no problems. Also should mention that my Blu Ray player when hooked up to the tv was very fuzzy.

I called VIZIO tech support three times over the course of the next two months, reset, firmware upgrade, etc. Finally, they send HD Repair techs out to change out the motherboard and power supply. HD Repair guys tell me they have changed out these parts for this exact tv with many other customers.

This has been two weeks ago and *knock on wood* no more issues. Its hard to believe that i waited so long to get it fixed.

PROS: beautiful set, wonderful picture, VIZIO Customer service

CONS: flimsy remote, headaches with getting the set to finally work right, sound is simply adequate.

i would purchase this tv again, however, it does lend me to wonder about the durability of Vizio products in the future. I will give it to VIZIO on one accord though, they stand by their product.

Love this TV Review by Mike In Bama

Bought this tv last August after much research. It has the best picture for the money period. I'm an electronics tech and an admitted geek. I demand a lot out of my electronic equipment. It took a month to set the picture to suit me. Recent I purchased a calibration DVD to see how my eyes compare.

Some aspects of the picture are better, but I prefer some aspects of my settings. To each his own I guess. Still, I love this tv. I got exactly what I wanted and everyone complements the beautiful picture. Highly recommend.

Amazing picture and sure the sound quality is not totally premium but if you want that then hook up your surround sound. Options galore and very simple to use. I hope to see a Youtube app soon. Netflix through wireless is great. the only problem i have had so far is the remote quit on me after 2 months of use. other than that this tv is TOTALLY recommended buy

Great Price, BT and DLNA not great Review by dboss

Overall we are very happy with our purchase. Got it at Walmart as a floor model. Family loving the profiles that can be set up. Unfortunately, the only drawback is the bluetooth only works for the remote. This is still cool cause the remote is way above any remote I've ever used for a TV. I would like to hook up a Plantronics BT headset or stream music from my iPhone but no luck. Also, I don't believe the it is DLNA compliant. :( I want to be able to connect our computers, phones, and a wireless Harddrive to have a full multimedia experience. Ah well, for the price we still got a ton of features that the competitors don't or are a premium. This was our first flat screen and are still enamored with the bells and whistles. The unit has updated several times since we've had it already which was cool as it added more features.

Overall, two thumbs up for price/features/picuture quality.

I have been looking for a long, long time for an LED LCD TV. The other day CompUSA had refurbished Vizio's at a great price. I bought the TV without hesitation and I am very happy with it. The salesman thought the TV was edge lit LED, it is not. The TV is backlit with local dimming which is a lot better. The default settings are probably the best way to leave the set for now, as I turned on the sensor that measures the room lighting and the TV became very dim, even on the low setting. I don't like the keyboard at all, guess I got spoiled with my BlackBerry cell phone. Wish Vizio would use the BlackBerry keyboard. I also wish that I could stream internet TV to the set. (I will find a way) The drag and drop of short video's to the TV works great! It seems that all of the included apps want money to use. Why should I pay for movies that I can find on the internet for free? You can pay more money and get a better picture, but for what I paid you would be lucky to get a basic 46" LCD TV.

Finally purchased this TV after almost a year of shopping. Based on online manual on Vizio site stating this was a dual-band 802.11n equipped TV I also purchased a dual band router. Unfortunately the TV is NOT dual band. Other than this hiccup my wife and I are very pleased with the ease of operation (my wife is techology challenged) and the excellent picture quality.

Just got this TV a few days ago, my third Vizio TV purchase but my first LED. The picture is amazing, and I know most people are a little upset about the speaker quality but honestly, this TV deserves surround sound. The speakers on the TV in my home theater set up are turned off anyway so no love lost there for me. This is a must have at an unbeatable price. Just try to find a comparable Samsung or Sony at this price, good luck. You get way more features, the same picture quality and built in wifi (ahem Sony) without the need to buy an expensive wifi adapter. Love this TV and have already recommended Vizio to family and friends.

Easy to hookup. Connected to my wireless router without any problems. I had a problem with the remove control and in the end customer service sent me a new one so everything is working as it should. I have only had the tV for a couple of months so far and I enjoy the big screen. It would be cool if there was a way to look at your e-mail on the screen. Some day there may be an app for this.

Up untill now I have only owned a older t.v. that was made back in 1998.so this was a mega leap for me and the wife. she loves being able to get on face book and yahoo,we already have had netflix but this makes it even more awsome. picture is so vivid it all most looks like you are right there in the t.v. show.it`s also very handy that I can hook my laptop to it and use it as a giant monitor. this is just a great t.v. you won`t go wrong buying this baby.there is still so much more we have yet to check out on this t.v. if you have the money and the room, buy it.even if you don`t have the room,buy it !!

Excellent overall, it's missing a few key elements Review by David

First of all, I love this set! It's amazing. We watch movies and the refresh rate is so fast, it feels like you are in the movie itself! There are a few key items that I think it should contain: I'm disappointed that, with three USB ports, they do nothing more than play pictures or music. I would expect to be able to hook up a thumb drive or external hard drive and have it read my video files. Second, the app selection has a lot of apps that aren't so great. What about Youtube, Hulu, and countless others that could be added. Maybe in time. Where is the internet browser? With such an extensive remote (pulldown keyboard and all), you would think Vizio would have crossed the bridge into an instrument that would finally combine television and internet. Isn't it time they became one? Other than these items, I love this set. Hopefully Vizio will add the above mentioned items, since they are more software based apps than hardware based.

I had my cable, DVD Player, Wii, NetFlix, and WiFi setup in less than 20 minutes. The picture is clear and crisp. I purchased the TV on Friday before the Bears/Packers game. I decided my friends and I are fairly rowdy during games so I wanted to up the sound system. I added the Visio Sound Bar to make this an absolutely beautiful combination. The picture is clear and crisp. Add to the fact that this unit is a USA made product! I can see a beautiful relationship starting here...

Better Than Ever! Review by Ross

This is my SECOND Vizio flat screen and I thought it couldn't get better than the first one but it did. Amazing picture quality with LED lighting, love the WiFi and Bluetooth features. I purchased this TV at CostCo with a rebate for $799 an amazing deal. Both of my Vizio TVs were easy to set up (my other is a E470VL) and were in flawless condition right out of the box, great quality control. The picture quality is flawless and meets or beats anything from Samsung, Panasonic or LG for $100s and $100s LESS! My thanks to Vizio for building such a high quality TV for such a low price. From box to watch in about 30 min. Instructions were very clear for all the set up steps and the picture is so great that I have not even thought about tweaking the settings.
Remote synced with my DVR in a flash and I love the feature that when I choose a non HD channel the TV will ask if I want to watch HD and automatically change to the HD channel if I press OK on the remote. WiFi hook up was also easy.
Next purchase a Vizio sound system.

We bought the TV as a family Christmas Gift.. this is our first TV upgrade in a long time. It was easy to setup out of the box and the internet apps are easy to use. Setting up the wifi to my mifi was a breeze..we are pleased and so are our kids.. they love the netflix movies at the touch of a button and we like the HD :-) it's a win win..

the remote is great and controls our dish receiver and dvr functions.. only suggestion would be to have back like keys for the buttons.. other than that.. we love the new TV.

We were trying to decide between this 47" LED or the 55" LCD. When we went with the 47"LED, our salesman said that he wanted us to make the decision, but he was so glad we decided on this one. He has this TV at home and loves it. We brought it home and hooked it up with no problems. Our digital box does not have a HG hook up. The picture is so clear now, and I know when we get the HG it will be fantastic. The sound is very good. We had heard that with LED's that usually was a problem, but it is great. We are looking forward to connecting to the internet. We are thrilled with this TV. It has everything we were looking for and more.

Recently purchased this TV from Walmart at a great price and was upgrading from a Samsung 40-inch LCD to get a larger picture and internet apps via the built-in wireless. Setup was effortless, although adjusting the picture to your liking takes some time. The internet apps work great and I connected my unit to an external surround sound system which makes for great audio to go along with the great picture. My TVs remote control works partially as it does not seem to operate the slideout keyboard and I have requested a replacement (...will write again if/when I get a new remote).

My only suggestion here for Vizio and Visio customers, make sure you get the serial number from the rear of the TV before you mount it on a wall (which of course I didn't) because afterwards, you'll never get the serial number to register the product, however, Vizio should make a sticker with the unit's serial number and place it on the registration card and/or manual.

I bought this as an early Christmas present for myself the day after Black Friday and I am not sorry. I absolutely love it! The picture is so vivid. It almost looks 3D. :)

So far I have had no problems or complaints. I am going to buy a sound bar though for better sound. The salesman did say you lose some sound quality with these flat panel TV's.

I would recommend this TV to anyone who likes good quality and a great picture. Being able to go on the internet is also a plus.

I researched various brands and spent some time talking with a very knowledgeable salesperson at a big box store. Consumer Reports has rated the Vizio very high for quite some time, so when this TV came along at an unbelieveable price, I couldn't wait any longer. The set is super easy to hook up and get going. Had a couple of issues with the wireless networking and had to call customer service 3 times. I will have to say that the customer service/tech support experience was the best I have ever experienced and if I had to make a decision based on that experience alone, I am a Vizio customer for life. I bought this TV 3 days ago and the guy behind me in line said that he has a smaller version of the same model and that it was the best TV he's ever owned. I've only had the TV two days and I must say that I'm very pleased with the ease of set-up and operation of the TV. Not to mention the great picture and sound the set provides. I bought this TV two weeks ago. It is amazing. I have been watching it in the stores for quite a while now and finally I bought one. I watched Avatar on Blue Ray and it blew my wife and me away with its clarity and detail. Watching other TV shows in HD many times, feels like you are in the same room as the actors. It is like looking through a window. I have an older Vizio 37” LDC HD. The picture in this new one is remarkably improved. The fact that I can connect to the internet and check things such as EBay, Facebook, Weather and more is just fantastic. Each member of my family can have their own profile allowing them to log into their Facebook accounts on the fly.

"I first received this tv (the 47" model) in June. There were problems with it not turning on or off, even using the button on the tv. We had to unplug it.
Contacted Costco Concierge, who contacted Vizio for us. No go. They replaced it, delivered, and set up.
It uses the wireless apps flawlessly, the picture is outstanding, and the viewing angle is unparalleled.
Blu-Ray is picture Fantastic! Just as good as the theater minus the 3D.
I have a '08 32" model whose motherboard was replaced about 11 months after I bought it, through Costco.
I have it in a very bright room with no loss of picture what so ever.
I would definitely recommend this tv to anyone who wants a quality device at an affordable price.
I just don't know what I'll do with all 3 usb ports!"

I purchased this tv a week ago after quite a bit of research.
The picture quality is simply amazing. The remote controls the Comcast
HD dvr/cablebox perfectly.

I paired it with a JVC DVD Digital Theater System
the remote controls everything but the volume..out of 5 available working codes.
Only thing I couldn't get working was the shift buttons on the remote itself.

Installation was a breeze. So was the set-up using the easy installation guide and wizard..
It even found my Linksys WTR54GL wireless router and the internet connection was painless. Yay for backwards compatibility.

I Highly recommend this product :)

First time writing a review for anything and and I'm glad it's about this television and this company. My wife and I purchased a Sony earlier this year and it saw it demise from a Wi system remote control incident. Fortunately if not for that astounding circumstance we would not have found this brilliant television. After much research, on and off the internet, we were hearing a number of positive reviews from current Vizio television owners. We began to shop and discovered a great deal on this television at Sams Club. Our old Sony was of equivalent size and features and still it could not hold an LED to this television! HD channels on or off... the picture looks great and is of such superior quality and excellent radiance. No matter what we did to improve the picture on the Sony it always appeared to be dull and hazy. The Vizio also has GREAT sound right out of the box, our old Sony vibrated and shuttered when turned up too loud. We have now owned this television for a couple of weeks and the only problems we have had so far is that we have seen the remote / low battery issue come up a few times. Also we have not been able to get the television to recognize wi-fi. I hope to have these issues resolved soon. Overall a great purchase and a great addition to any household that wants a superior quality television at an impressively lower cost than what the competition can offer. We cant wait to get the Vizio Model VHT510 sound bar system for it!!

I purchased this TV a little over a week ago, and have never been so happy with a purchase, EVER!! I was looking to get a new TV with some good features and then came across this one at my local Sam's Club. It has internet capability and is LED, and I was sold.. I have been watching NetFlix Movies pretty much non-stop. And, the quality of the picture is surpassed by no other TV for even more money.. If more people knew about this TV then I think the other over priced brands would be shaking in their shoes.

I am waiting a long time to get a LCD TV and then I saw this Vizio at Costco. I had to spend more to get this LED than the LCD but the savings on electric bill will be better in the end. This is the best TV ever!!! Picture is so amazing, I have a bluray disc and HD, perfect for this TV! I watched NFL preseason games and it was extra crispy! The remote is bluetooth enabled and has a built-in keyboard for web browsing. Super easy to set up. Cheaper then any LED TV brand, but better. Go get it before the NFL kickoff.

Super, best TV I ever owned Review by Cliff C

In addition to another 47" TV and two other Vizios, I decided that I needed another Vizio with the promised features I expected. Namely, I wanted on with a wireless network, and a higher refresh rate. This TV has those things and many more. I am delighted with it and had to wait for a couple of weeks before Walmart was able to get it. I got it the first week in June and have had it a month. It was easily setup and installed. The picture is outstanding with movie theater quality. Words fail me because they also have an excellent service backup. My calls were routine questions, and they handled them very well. My favorite is the wireless network, which I set up in short order and this gave me access to about 20 or so APPS. I like the Net Flix AP the best. I simply load into the movies I want to see and they are there for as long as I want them. It was an excellent choice and I have had super good luck with my other two Vizios. They are made in the United States, too. Cliff C

I just go this TV and it is incredible. Even Netflix streams amazingly high quality HD straight to the TV through the built in wireless card. I am very impressed and would recommend this TV to anyone who can find it.
