I really like this LCD HDTV. My wife and I did a lot of research before buying this, our third, LCD HDTV. We own a Phillips 46" and 37" Sanyo and find the Vizio to be the best one of all. We purchased the Vizio January of 2012 and so far we haven't found any faults with it. The TV has a great picture and teh sound is great also. Features I like are the amount of inputs, thefixed/variable sound output, and the ability to adjust not just the basic setting but the advanced ones as well. I am using the variable sound output to control the home theater system in conjunction with the tv speakers to get a great sound. The remote is a learning remote that controls the blu-ray, the stereo, the cable,as well as the TV.
I would like it better if the USB could be used for more than JPEG. Maybe, there might be a software upgrade that could make it possible to plug a laptop into the USB for streaming or use as a second scream.
All in all we feel the TV was a good purchase and would recomend it to others. When we are in the market for a new TV we will definitely be looking at VIZIO.(Posted on 2/17/12)

I purchased this TV (Model E 551 VL) at Costco 2 months ago for $899.99. I then read some of the customer reviews and was concerned because many reviews indicated a problem with the audio. Sure enough, a couple of weeks ago, the audio started going in and out. The fix was to turn the tv off and turn it back on and the audio would come back on. Well needless to say, I did not want to have to do this especially on a new TV!! This model does not have wifi built in.
Yesterday I returned the tv and purchased Vizio Model E 551 VA. This model DOES have wifi built in and it is a pleasure to view. Granted, I haven't had it for 60-days yet, so I hope not to have any audio issues. BTW, I have owned a Vizio Plasma TV for years now with absolutely NO ISSUES. Costco is currently selling this tv for $989 with a $90 instant rebate for the same cost as the first model reviewed above ($899)...smoking deal!! This tv is soooooo cool. I love it!(Posted on 12/5/11)
- Even better than I expected! Review by Mike

Bought this Vizio 55" TV last Saturday to replace a Sony 40" in our great room. I watched football that night (it has a custom setting specifically for football), and was amazed at the picture and sound quality. I read reviews, compared it with other models at several stores and knew this Vizio would be a good buy, but it is even better than I expected. It definitely beats any other brand in this price range.

I bought this at Walmart for $989, after looking at TV's at Best Buy. The picture is easily as good as TV's costing 300-500 dollars more!
Easily connected to the Vizio Blue Ray and is internet connectable so I moved the Roku device out of the living room. It takes a while to connect to Netflix, but the 20-30 seconds is tolerable. Also works with Blockbuster and Hulu Plus. Easy to set up and the custom settings (I keep mine on "game") provide a beautiful viewing experience. There are only two issues with the TV.
1. The HDMI works with my laptops HDMI, although I could not get the PC-VGA to work, or even recognize. on other flat screen TV's, you simply plug it in and it comes up (provided you have it on VGA or PC setting). Not on this TV. You MUST have a HDMI out of your laptop to see it, but that is more a function of the Laptop than the TV.
2. The optical sound out won't allow me to fully insert the optical cable. This sucks as I have the Vizio Soundbar and have to use the RCA outs.
Other than that, I love this TV!(Posted on 9/15/11)
