Changed the way I watch TV Review by ERSedlock

This TV is exceptional for the price. I have had this TV for a little over a year and it has made it annoying for me to watch any other TV. The reason is one of the smoothing options this model has built in. It makes so that when watching non-3D movies it is almost like being on the set while filming. The picture no longer seems flat and tiresome, thus giving even regular TV shows and DVD/Blueray disks a new distinct look. The 3D feature is great and easy to use. The built in Apps system could use an upgrade to the firmware. The remote is kind of touchy as to where you must actually aim it at the TV most of the time to get it to work correctly. I also recommend using an external sound source for powerful theater sound. Overall the picture and features far out weigh any negatives. Add the low price and this is a value that would be tough to beat. I recommend with a 9/10 rating.

I'm in love. 10 stars! Review by Tyler

This is the best tv I've ever owned. I watch a lot of movies and it excels in pretty much everything. Im also a hardcore gamer and this is one of the best gaming TVs I've used, amazing resolution, sharpness, and clarity. MAKE SURE GAME MODE IS ON. The 3D is amazing especially on 3D games. Assassins creed 3, crysis 3 are mind blowing (seriously, I spent the first 2 hours dying because I was admiring the the scenery and bullets flying at me.) The only complaint I have is that it doesn't have a YouTube app but it makes up for it by having everything else you could possibly think of.
1-10 stars it gets a 10. Stop looking for tvs and just buy it, you won't regret it.

Please Read!!! Review by Mrwayfarout

All in all, on a scale from 1-10, this tv would achieve about an 8, this isn't a high quality $1,000+ tv. But for the money this is a definite buy. I only have a few complaints after operating it for a year now. The remote is cool with the keyboard on the back and is helpful, although doesnt have all the buttons a tv fanatic would want, but it's got most of them. One big thing is that te remote is not backlit so in the dark it is awful hard to see the buttons in the dark. Not to mention the tv sensor is absolutely terrible, you have to be basically pointing right at it for it to get the signal from the remote, it's not a good remote that you could point it the opposite direction and it would work. Sometimes the remote is really slow and you click and button, doesn't work, so you hit it again and again. And in the end after about 15 seconds it does all those buttons, it is just slightly annoying, doesn't happen very often though. Next, the App Store is kind of sparce, there isn't a lot apps, but for a tv it is definitely sufficient, although nothing like the Samsung App Store. Also, sometimes when you're watching Netflix it will randomly crash, I've noticed this happens increasingly often when you are on less than 2 bars out of 5 on wifi. Now for the positives, apart from all the things above the tv is flawless, rather cheap for its kind (smart and 3D). 120hz and 1080p, makes action movies and sports look flawless. The sound is wonderful. 3 HDMI ports is good for all the devices you need, plus components ports and other for older devices. It's also got a USB port so you can read files and show pictures and movies on the biggest screen in the house. The wifi connector works great even in some of the worst places in my house. The tv is energy star rated and operates at a very cheap cost, if you were to run it 5 hrs a day for a year it would only cost $15!! That is quite cheap! All in all, this is a great tv and is a must buy if you are looking for a quality built tv at a modest price. I tip my hat to you vizio!

Best 3D TV for the money Review by Adam

It has phenomenal high definition and displays one of the best 3D pictures I have seen. The apps, especially VUDU and Netflix, are an awesome feature. Nearly everything on this TV can be customized for you, it even allows you to custom name the inputs and turn the LED indicator light on and off. The 3D glasses are comfortable, and if you need more the cheap ones that are used in most movie theaters work just fine in a pinch.

On a side note, the smart apps are a bit slow when loading compared to other models, and the Wifi can be finicky. Both of these, however, are partially (if not fully) due to the slow network that I currently have at my apartment.

I bought this TV last year just after Christmas time for a great price and it has since gone down significantly. Overall This is the best TV That you can buy for this money. You will not be disappointed. I will never buy any other brand of TV again.

Best 3D Picture/Deal on the market ! Review by Codacious

I've owned this TV for about a year now and have never been happier !

I bought it at Sams last year when they had the BluRay Player + 4 Glasses Bundle on sale and a year latter it's come down a little in price but I still feel it was one of the best purchases I made that year in terms of happiness per price. I have a very large computer work desk and this TV sits back a little over 3' and doubles as my multi-input computer monitor. Web pages look great and clear, youtube 1080 videos look terrific, all work .txt .xlm .pdf etc... come out crisp and legible, TV shows and movies in HD look perfect, but best of all my 3D collection looks awesome every time.

I have 1 computer with RGB, 1 computer HDMI, PS3 HDMI, Cable Box HDMI, and of course the internet for a total of more entertainment media then anybody could ever hope for at a price that is perfect for anybody who is on a budget or has a wife and kids ;-) The smart apps I haven't used too much since the beginning, but they work just as you would expect them to. I've played with the advanced picture modes extensively when I first bought it and actually had to turn most of them off as it looks so real that I actually missed a film looking like a film instead of a home movie shot in HD. This has been quipped as the "Soap Opera Effect" (google it), and while it really does make some animation and gaming pop out at you and is hours of fun to play with, you'll probably find the sweet spot you like and forgot the TV even has those other features in the long run. Speaking of games, turn game mode on the port that your games are on and the input lag is so small it becomes a non issue.

The only ding I could give this TV would be in the speaker dept but that wouldn't be fair as I have 3 other flat screens around the house and they all also have smallish "tiny" sound, and this set clearly sounds better then them due to the implementation of either DolbyDigital or SRS . The family doesn't complain about the others per smallish speakers are adequate for bedroom usage but for living room I would advise a mid-to-high brand 5.1 stereo receiver. Almost all flat screen TVs (except for the big bucks elite) have this issue and it is really more of a standard that we all just haven't gotten used to yet when coming from a big clunky set that has room for the bigger speakers. For the bedroom I would say you would have no problems with the built in speakers. I have this TV hooked to my computers 5.1 speakers (logitech) with a splitter for other devices and the center channel just below the vizio logo and it is perfect.

In summary, If you want to make the jump to 3D, want to play your video games on a TV the will support the correct resolution and look fantastic, or just have the best computer monitor you have always wished for, Vizio has also wanted that and created this TV just for us at a price we can afford. Love This TV.

AMAZING! Review by Alayne

We were planning on buying a flat screen for Christmas and we never looked for a 3D or a Smart TV, we just wanted a 42" flat screen. When I came across this TV while surfing WalMart on the web, I couldn't believe the price. After discussing it with my boyfriend we purchased it and picked it up the very next day. We were so excited! I was worried about how our Directv receiver would work since it's not an HD but I had everything up and running in about 10-15 minutes. This is the first VIZIO we've ever bought and I can tell you that we are not disappointed! Will be looking at other things VIZIO has too!

I have been a Vizio owner since 2005, and I love my set have no problems. Just looking for another TV and seen this at the Walmart site. Put it on layaway and will be getting it out next week. Love the reviews and know that they are all true. I am a vizio customer for life. Can't wait to get my TV. Will write another review after I get my set next week. Everyone enjoy your Vizios.

Luv it Review by Hillbilly

I've had the TV about a week now. I had been leary about which TV would work the best. I finally bit the bullet and bought this one. I am not sorry. If I knew it would be this good, I would have purchased it long ago. I've seen other TVs that I didn't think had that great a picture. The picture quality is top notch on this one. Picture looks great for numerous angles. Set-up was extremely easy. I'm thinking about purchasing another one. I haven't viewed anything in 3D yet but I believe I will be happy. I hope Vizio maintains this high standard.

NpSdZtWqKHemCSSRG Review by Fernando

I was impressed with how well this TV pcdeurod flawless 3D effects without any ghosting at all. 3D Blu-ray movies appear brighter and even more rich in color through the polarized glasses. As opposed to some of the active shutter glasses I have tried out, the lightweight polarized glasses are less strenous on both the eyes and the nose they rest on. The TV also works well with the PS3 and generates an immersive 3d gaming enviroment. While I was easily able to link my computer to it through the hdmi port to play my downloaded 3d content, I was a little dissapointed that I could not access 3d controls while trying it on the RGB port. I also could not find a way to make it work with nvidia's 3d vision. However, I am hopeful that Nvidia will provide support for this TV in a future driver release. The TV can normally autodetect 3D content but when it doesn't you can push the 3D button on the remote for easy access to the SBS, TB, or Sensio 3d settings. The wireless setup was very quick and easy and involved no more then picking out my network and typing in my password. I also really like the one touch buttons for VOD, Netflix, And Vudu. The full QWERTY keyboard on the reverse side of the remote allows for painless browsing of online movies and TV shows. In conclusion, for the features, screen size, quality and price of this TV set, it's a fantastic bargain and I fully endorse it. IMPORTANT NOTE When using the TV for gaming, make sure film mode is off or you will experience massive input lag. Update: after a bit of tinkering I have found that the TV works flawlessly with IZ3D drivers on the interleaved setting, you don't even have to put the tv in 3d mode for it to work and it produces some truly amazing pc 3d gaming immersion. Don't even bother with nvidia 3d vision its a dead end on this tv, the IZ3D software works with both ati and nvidia cards.

I love my tv Review by Kinda

I have never enjoyed a tv so much. I saw a sample tv at walmart and was pleased with the 3d image, so i decide to buy. I don't even want to leave home, because i miss out on my tv. the hd channels on direct tv are so pretty with this tv. And i can't get enough of the internet apps. You don't have to worry about purchasing 3d movies at the store, because it is much cheaper to buy them or rent them at the vudu app.Once you buy them on the vudu app, they are yours anytime you want to go back and watch them. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, Fandango, Facebook, Twitter and many more apps or on this tv. I can't stay away from it. I can even hook up my laptop with the hdmi cord and play hidden object games on the tv with a wireless mouse. And it also came with a 3d blu ray player which had the same apps, in case you rather pay $30 for the 3d movies than pay $21 to buy it on vudu app. I can not stay away from this tv.

Awesome tv as everyone has mentioned great price, features and functions . I found out the people with complaints it had to be their installation or perhaps internet provider. Mine works so well I have a 17yr old who is really envying me now and won't leave my room. I was Lucky to still find a bundle which included Blu-ray player, 4 pairs of 3d glasses, Hdmi cable and $20 Vudu credit for the price of the tv alone. Can you say happy camper?

Thanks Vizio!

Awesome TV !!! Review by CJ

I bought a 32" Vizio LCD in 2005 from Circuit City for $599 and have been impressed with how it has performed. 720 60hz was it for entry level at that time. This 42" smart tv with 3d is an out-of-this world value!!! easy to set up and a remarkable picture!!! Thanks again for giving regular hard working people a great value for our home video entertainment !!
I am a Vizio customer for life !!!

Awesome, Detailed and Crisp Picture Quality. Review by airspoon

I'm certainly not an A/V buff and while I have owned about 8 different LCD HD TV's, even two Vizio sets, I have never owned a TV that comes anywhere close to this one in picture quality. Even without the other features like 3D and internet apps, this is an excellent TV well worth the listed price. The 3D and internet apps are like icing on the cake. I would highly recommend this TV to just about everyone and with the price, just about anyone can afford it.

If Vizio keeps these standards on all future models, then I'll definitely be a customer for life.

Great Picture Great Price Great Tech Support Review by Mikey

I did my homework on a lot of products recently and I have been very impressed with this TV all around. I was standoffish about picking up a 3D TV but this was the best choice all around. Wifi, Internet Apps, the different inputs have their own settings.
The tech support was very prompt with helping me as well. No long waiting time on the phone (Sunday afternoon) pleasant CSR and able to walk me through resetting my VUDU account with easy. I would recommend this purchase to anyone who is looking for a mid range TV with all the bells and whistles for a GREAT PRICE!

Fantastic TV` Review by Phil

I've always felt that Visio produced some of the best computer monitors; so when I saw this TV in the store I had to check it out. I am extremely pleased with my purchase.
Went in the store telling my self not to spend more than $1200.00 for a decent TV.
Ended up spending less than half of that and really wasn't even looking for a 3d tv. I think the best part is the use of passive 3d glasses (light weight and no batteries). In fact, my grandkids left some glasses in the car from the movie Despicable Me, and they worked fine. Now, I'm gonna go hook up my PS3. Great TV.

Amazed by Vizio Again Review by Whitty

Two years ago I got my first Vizio. It was a 32" and I love it, it now sits in my room. Comparing Vizio to other brands and you will automatically see the better picture quality over other brands. Since that purchase I have been completely sold on the Vizio product. We got our new tv two days ago and I will have say I was floored by the amazing picture quality. We watched Tangled with our daughter the day we got it and the picture looked so amazing we couldn't believe our eyes. Awesome tv, great purchase, best TV Company on the Planet.

So I bought 2 Review by Nate

I wanted a 3D TV but I was not going to pay 1500. After all I just bought an Alien ware and I work hard for my money. So when I saw the bundle for 698..befor Black Friday. I grabbed it..Good thing because none of these were in sale. and for 698 they dont need to be. So I took it home. The 3D..amazing..it is nothing short of movie style 3D. No headaches. So I looked at all the reviews and it looked like what I figured the E3d420vx was the way to go. But now they were coming out withe the new M series. I wanted my 420vx. Needless to say yesterday I found my 420VX. I pay PS3 and all things PC. so imagine how I feel to play Skyrim in 3D not just in my living room but in my bedroom also. That TV was not the bundle I got it for 598. so 1300 to 42" 3D TV's FPR no Headaches...or 1500 on Big Sony..headaches plus buy those glasses and batteries..ouch...nope! Kudos Vizio..I love your TV's and I game... :P

Great TV, wonderful 3D Review by Reuben

I've been very anxious in getting a 3D television. I've read many reviews of the shutter versus the passive TV’s. For a while I've heard bad reviews for the passive, and that was my preferred 3D TV. I just knew that Vizio TV is a good value, and I felt they had the consumer in mind when they decided to do that technology.

This Christmas we purchased one of the Bundles for fewer than 700 dollars. This TV is amazing, the 3D is far better than any reviews I’ve read. I can’t believe how some reviewers lean toward the shutters. When I’ve tried the shutter glasses, I don’t like the weight and I don’t like the idea of having to charge the units. I would get a little nausea when wearing them. I thought the most economic way would be the passive glasses and I never got sick with the glasses at the movie theater.

I am so happy with this purchase, it exceeds anything I expected and having Direct TV with its 3d channels, I’m enjoying the technology right away. I can go on and on, but this is the best value for dollar. Good Job Vizio.

Awesome TV Review by Marcus

Found this TV in a bundled package at wall mart for 678.00 it had 4 glasses the 3d bluray player and even the HDMI cable. Took it home and was watching downloaded 3d movies in just a few minutes after set up.

Like everyone else has posted, the bad things i found was the lack of an internet browser and i was disapointed not to have 2d to 3d up conversion.
But for the price paid, all i can say is its worth every penny. Good job Vizio.

Really good tv Review by stamped

I have had this TV for almost a year now and still love it like the first day i got it. I do wish it had a regular browser the app are nice but i would not call this a full internet TV . The 3d is exceptionabley good, great picture quality and the qwerty key board on the back of the remote is setup for a browser maybe a firmware up date would be nice.

Vizio has out done themselves. Review by Brad

I was cruising through wal-mart and couldn't believe it, a 3D TV for under $1000. So I watched some demo's, and decided it was time to replace my 46" Sony Bravia 120Hz with this bad boy. Going to skip the standard reviews that everyone else has posted, I agree with all the positive comments on picture, however, recommend that if this is a main viewing TV to pickup an external sound system for it.

Something no one seems to have mentioned yet which boggles my mind is the connectivity between the TV and a PS3. In the settings you can link the TV to your PS3 and actually use the Vizio remote to control your PS3. In addition, if your like me and don't watch regular TV, you can set the TV up such that when it powers on, it will also power on your PS3! No more searching for my lost PS3 controller in the dark!

One downside I've found as a tech geek though is the lack of DLNA support directly from the TV. However, with the TV's ability to control a PS3 directly (Note, my SONY TV wouldn't control my SONY PS3, go figure...) you can easily circumvent the lack of DLNA support by using a PS3 or attached BD Player with DLNA.

All in all, was skeptical due to past experiences with Vizio TV's (horrible image burn in short periods on my 32" Vizio Plasma), yet decided to give Vizio a second chance and have yet to be disappointed by this TV. Kudos Vizio, you have outdone yourselves with this amazing set.

All I can say is Wooowwwww !!! Review by Kiwy

To start with, let me tell you that this is my first HDTV and nothing to say about 3D Home Experience, and I'm 1000% satisfied now.

I just got this beautiful piece of equipment along with my DirecTv HD upgrade (HR22-100 HD Receiver), and guess what, I really think that with these two pieces of equipment and maybe a Vizio 3D Blu-Ray player that I'm about to get ... I won't be in the need to go the Movie Theaters any more, and why to be if I can enjoy an amazing 3D experience right there at my bed comfort !!!

I highly recommend to get these set of equipment at this great price !!! And I'm sure that it will be the best investment on home entertainment you've ever made !!!

Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy !!!

Love it! Love it! ah they missed something Review by Ed

I have had my TV for nearly 6 mths now and really love the picture quality that it provides. At times it feels like you are right there. With the 3D as part of the package I was kind of worried that there was no 3D movies really available. That has changed in the last 4 months. After changing to a new sattlelight provider we now have some 3D shows/sports available. My first experience was watching Tennis in 3D. I was totally blown away. Then the real test came when we were able to watch one of our favorite College Football teams in 3D. My wife and I are hooked. This was a great deal and am glad that we stuck with getting this version with 3D. Vizio is the best TV I have ever owned.
ONLY ISSUE I have is that my wife likes to get up early and watch her morning shows while I am sleeping. Our old set was it set up where you could hook up wireless head phones. To do that you need a head phone jack. This TV does not have that feature. Not sure why they didn't add it.

Stunned Review by Randifer

I've known VIsio for 10+ years. They had been available in Canada before the US. I have a Visio 22 inch PS monitor that I love for the money I paid.

When it came to this unit, it was not what I was looking for originally. All I wanted was something for the bedroom. With a small house, I had a 32" that seemed just fine. But when I saw this screen and the price and I had respect for the brand, I stopped to think about it and bought this to replace the 32" which I retired upstairs.

Results: Best HD picture I've probably ever seen. Crystal Clear, black blacks, incredible color. The sound is good enough that I can retire my 9 year old Sony surround sound system. The 3D was questionable at first when I tried it against some Comcast on demand content, but when I played some Vudu trailers it was AMAZING.

Overall, it is the best home entertainment buy I've probably ever made!

Great TV. Fantastic 3D. Phenomenal Value! Review by koneill

I purchased this TV after buying a Samsung UN46D6400 LED TV and returning it to Samsung for a refund -- Samsung was great to work with, by the way, and I would buy from them again only because they acted honorably in the spirit of customer satisfaction. That being said, having bought the Samsung for $1,300, I felt somewhat like I'd been "ripped off." Sure, the TV's contrast ratio was through the roof, and the image quality overall was bar none, but I believe the contrast ratio, in addition to the Samsung's high-gloss screen, exacerbate any screen uniformity issues, and the unit I had suffered from HORRIBLE clouding and "flashlighting." Furthermore, though it was a 3D-ready TV, it included no glasses (which are pricey), and accessing any internet apps would have required the purchase of an external wifi adapter, an additional $80 or so. In short, I would have had to spend about $1,500 to use the Samsung's 3D and internet features, and I still would have been stuck with a TV marred by poor backlight uniformity.

For the Vizio E3D420VX, I spent a total of $668, and while this TV is 42", versus the Samsung's 46 inches, it includes two pairs of 3D glasses and has 802.11n built in. I set it up, connected my PS3 via HDMI, and breezed through the setup procedure. It picked up my wireless network quickly, and I was immediately able to access Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, and all of the other available online content. My PS3 looks fantastic, but the icing on the cake is the 3D. It's not just $668 good. It's very, very good, period. I've played a few game demos and viewed some of the free 3D content available on PSN, and so far, I'm really impressed with what I've seen (and having been partially responsible for the development of Dell's Alienware AW2310 3D gaming monitor, I know 3D).

I'm also very happy with some of the TV's other, less prominent features, such as its RCA analog stereo output, the option to turn-off its power LED (thank you, Vizio, and praise baby Jesus!!!), and its clever QWERTY remote. I have a 2.1 receiver with two bookshelf speakers and a sub, and it's becoming more and more difficult to find a TV with analog stereo outputs. With this Vizio TV, I was able to easily connect my receiver and use the TV's remote to adjust the volume level. When my receiver was connected to the Samsung TV, I had to use the receiver's remote to adjust the volume level, because the Samsung remote's volume control becomes disabled when the TV is configured for "External Speakers." Being able to turn-off the Vizio's power LED, while a minor feature, is a HUGE plus to me; I had an older Vizio TV whose illuminated logo I quickly became annoyed with, so to be able to view content with one less visual distraction makes for a great bonus -- it's really nice to see a company like Vizio being mindful of details like this. And speaking of details, while I've noted complaints about the QWERTY remote, the only thing I can ding if for is not being back-lit; however, at $668, I can't balk. In fact, even in the dark, entering text using the remote's keyboard is far, far more convenient than having to use what is usually a poorly executed on-screen substitute.

As for the Vizio's picture quality, it's not perfect, but it's still very, very impressive, especially at its price-point. Contrast is good, clarity is very good, and after calibrating the unit, its color reproduction is, in my opinion, extremely natural and transparent. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with its ability to render HD content. It does suffer somewhat from backlight uniformity issues, and it's black levels don't touch those of plasmas or LED TVs, but in comparing it to the Samsung LED TV I had, I have to say that even in dark scenes, this TV is far more satisfying to watch; as mentioned previously, I suspect that the astronomically high contrast levels afforded by LED TVs actually work to exploit any clouding and "flashlighting" issues that may be present. In the case of this Vizio CCFL TV, its lower contrast ratio actually makes for a picture that is, overall, far more uniform.

As a consumer who feels as though truly solid values are becoming increasingly difficult to come by, I have to say I'm very, very happy with my purchase of this Vizio TV. It's a great HDTV with fantastic 3D at an incredible value. Highly recommended.

Amazing T.V! Would have paid twice the price!!! Review by dgskizzle

I have been interested in getting a 3Dtv for a while now. I went back and forth on brands from Samsung to Panasonic to Sony then to samsung again... But I hated how none of these brands made just a Simple LCD 3Dtv (I dont think LED tvs are my thing yet due to bad corner bleeding).I then started to think I didnt want 3D because of the Dizziness accociated with the bulky expensive glasses that need recharging!

But when I heard about Passive 3D technology with just plain non electronic glasses... i was once again interested. I did some research on the Passive 3d and started to get a bit weary of it. I had seen alot of so called (Cons) about Passive 3D... such as: 1080p resolution getting cut in half... but i still decided to give it a go.

Now, since there was ABSOLUTELY NO store showing a demo of Vizio 3D (Not Walmart or Sams Club), I chugged on down to best buy to see the LG 3Dtvs (Also Passive) and was BLOWN AWAY! Even my father who hates 3D technology and isnt technologic at all was commenting on how great it was! The "1080p resolution cut in half" is NOT NOTICABLE AT ALL if you sit the correct amount of feet back... as it tells you, trust me!

Then I had another dilema... i was nervous that this Vizio (Theater) 3D wouldn't be equal or would be worse compared to the LG (Cinema) 3D... i thought that maybe the 3d picture wouldnt be able to POP out of the screen like the LG did...

I decided to give it a shot anyway. I finally went to my local walmart and picked this up for $667 (Great Price) and brought it home. (Get off Amazon or walmart they have best prices) When i took it out of the box and set it where my 32 inch used to be... I was amazed at how big this tv looked! The set up process was very very easy and quick and I love how this tv has built in Wifi!

The 2d picture on this tv (Dish Network HD) is Incredible!

After watching 10 minutes of plain tv... I couldnt wait anymore I had to try out the 3D!

The first thing I did was play Call of duty (Xbox 360) 3D... I thought it was alright but it wasnt the coolest 3d i had ever seen. I am not gonna lie, i was dissapointed at Call of Duties 3D (i didnt know then that it was just the games fault not the tv's fault)

After that I watched Resident Evil Afterlife 3D. My jaw was on the floor the entire time!!! The 3D was insanely good! I saw this movie in theaters in 3D and was dissapointed so I wasnt expecting much... But this tv made it look AMAZING! Right then and there I KNEW that this tv was Equal to the LG and the picture looked much Sharper. And It really did just POP off the Screen!!!

I played Motorstorm apocalypse and Once again was amazed!!! Debris flew into the screen that made me flinch!

A MUST PLAY 3D GAME IS "SUPER STARDUST HD"! It is incredibly addicting and the 3D is revolutionary...

Killzone 3 in 3D is ridiculously good however it does take a slight dip in graphics, but trading it for 3d is worth it! One of the coolest 3D things in Killzone is when you run up to a helghast and stab them in the eye with a knife and blood flies into your face!

I watched Gnomeo and Juliet on the Vudu app on the tv! It had good quality 3D and was a cute movie.

Tron is amazing as well!

While watching A Christmas Carol 3D it really felt like it was snowing in my room!

I also downloaded a Trailer for the new 3D channel 3Net that is made by Discovery, Sony, and IMAX and it was AMAZING! IT REALLY FELT LIKE I WAS IN AN IMAX THEATER! It made me actually put my hand up trying to grab a fish in water (which i never put my hand up and I make fun of people who do... that is just how good the 3d was!) Get this video on playstation store > video > available in 3d > free 3d It is called 3Net Sizzle (3D) pick it up for free!

Still the 1080 resolution cut in half is bull and isnt noticable AT ALL!!!!!

Most of the people bashing on the Passive systems are people who own Active Shutter 3D sets and regret buying them! :)

I had the money to buy whatever Tv i wanted to and this tv is cheap and works better than the ones that are $1000-$2000

There are a couple SMALL complaints
- The sound is very low on this tv (but the tv is soo cheap that you can that you can use the money you saved to buy a surround sound!)
-You have 5 seconds to manually change the 2d picture to 3d so if the remote isnt close to you than you have to try again!
-ON VERY RARE occasions, the menu can be slow

Tons of PROS
-Spectacular Picture (LED quality without bad corner bleeding)
-Full Qwerty Keyboard (Responsive)
-Tons of Apps (including Ebay, Pandora, Facebook, Twitter, and TONS more)
-Stunning 3D that is better than most Active Shutter 3D sets!
-Ridiculous amount of picture settings to tweak to make it look the way you want (very easy to use)
-Very user friendly
-Lightweight 3D glasses
-Wide Viewing angle
-Deep Blacks
-Bright colors (turn backlight up to 98! it looks amazing!)
-Quick set up
-BUILT IN WIFI! (Just Right there is enought to buy this tv!)
-Tons more i cant think of!!!

The Pros outweigh the Cons on this tv no matter what, the cons are no Biggie!

Also I havent noticed alot of problems with the Remote buttons not responding like people have been saying maybe they are just picky or something cuz the remote is perfect and so is the full qwerty keyboard!!!

Get this TV and Enter the new home Technology at a cheap price! I would have paid $1500 for this tv (like samsung's) and still would have been impressed and happy! You cant go wrong!

I really can see Passive 3Dtvs taking the 3D market. Great Picture great for family viewing. This is the Takeoff of REAL 3DTVs!

Thank you soooo Much Vizio! Great Quality products! Low and non-greedy prices! Great Customer service! No wonder you are the best selling LCD tv company!!!!!!

Surprised Review by RaGinG TyRanT 5

I was very hesitant in purchasing a Vizio set. I 'am more in line with Samsung and Phillips.

I was really looking into 3d gaming, and Samsung is very pricy with their 3D sets. I Also do not want to purchase shutter glasses. I then decided after reading many reviews to give VIZIO a shot.

Im very happy I took that plunge. This set is very solid. Produces great picture, and the 3D effects I get with Gaming is breath taking.

Games I sampled are the following:
Black Ops
Crysis 2
NBA 2k
MLB The Show 11

I have to say the 3D effects while playing those games were very impressive. Some more than others.

Black ops in 3D was great while playing the campaign, but I would not recommend it during online play. Simply because your targets look farther away, and that can be a advantage to them when paying in 2D.

Crysis 2 was nice in 3D and clear in 3D, but seemed more impressive in Black Ops.

NBA 2k looked really good, and I was laughing on how the players felt and looked more lifelike.

With the 3 titles mentioned above I witnessed zero ghosting.

MLB the show while playing in 3d can display slight ghosting, but not all the time. Once you get the effectiveness correct. MLB the show looks scary real. I can only play the game now in 3D. It looks very realistic, and gives off the feel like your really being pitched too. As if your taking pitches in the ball park in a real life setting.

Movies in 3D looked extremely clean and zero Ghosting, I did not see any ghosting effect at all. Now I only viewed 2 movies in 3D, but plenty of demos. I have to say this TV does a great job with the 3d effects.

I personally love the apps made available on this set.

NetFlix, Amazon, and VUDU are the only 3 I messed with so far.

VUDU I feel is great. I love Netflix also. What I love about VUDU is being able to get a 3D movie for 5.99. Which to me is a ton better than having to pay for 5 movie tickets (2 adults , and 3 kids). VuDu also does live streaming. They also allow 2 minutes of a preview before deciding to purchase. Which is great to see if your happy with their 3D effects.

I strongly recommend this set to anyone, and In a few months I will be purchasing the VIZO 65" Razor LED for my living room.

I'm now a VIZIO customer.

Good TV, but lacking in some respects Review by hethwt

Over all the TV is great, Great picture, excellent features and over all a great package. though the sound is lacking. It is rather low and soft. I have to crank it up to close to 40 on the volume to hear it 8 feet away, when my VIZIO 47 in the living room is blaring at 25 However there are some things that I think need to be changed or worked on.

First of all using the 3D feature can be cumbersome if you use it alot. The prompts can get annoying to switch to 3D and if you don't make the timer then you have to go into the menu and turn it on. The TV auto senses the 3D content, so why can't it just turn on the 3D without the user's input?

Secondly, the remote is garbage. You can't just type into a text field when it's present you have to flip it back over navigate the cursor to the soft cursor to type. Half the time the 3D button doesn't work, and you have to really press hard on almost all the keys to get them to register. Also it would be really nice if this remote was backlight. If you are watching TV in the dark and having to type in any VIZIO internet app you can't see anything and have to get up and turn a light on.

All in all the TV is a good buy, and I just have those few complaints. If those could be addressed then it would be an excellent buy. I really hope to see a firmware update in the future to remove the 3D prompts, and to see a new remote that works better and is back light would be a great option to buy for this set.

Great Value Review by Gregg

It has everything I was looking for in a new TV and more. I wasn't feeling well and our TV went out. I just told my wife and son to go and get us a TV. We were familiar with VIZIO as my son has a smaller on in his room. I fully expected them to get a larger version. I did not expect Netflix, Blockbuster, Facebook, etc... on demand. Setup was easier than setting up the old sets. Picture is great. We already had a surround sound system, but the sound of the TV isn't bad. I was amazed at how much more detail it brought out even in the Non-HD programs. I'm all about "Value". They could have come home with a less expensive television, but not the bang for the buck. I do reccomend spending the few extra 100 bucks or so, (Less if you catch a sale or find a coupon) and get the one that's Netflix, HULU and Blockbuster ready. It's such a breeze to switch to Netflix and find something I want to watch when there's nothing on. I'm extremely happy with our purchase.

You get what you paid for and so much more!!! Review by int3rpo1

Bought this tv set for $690 + tax at Costco(due to their 2 year warranty). A lot people will call this a "value" tv, and it is indeed an amazing value! But too many think "cheap" when they hear "value" anything, for the most part, that really isn't the case here. This is an amazing tv, I primarily use it to watch basic cable tv and for gaming and high-def movies by means of my PS3. Prior to this tv, I owned a Vizio 32 inch 720p plasma tv(For 3 and a half years, and it's still going strong!) and I briefly owned a Panasonic 42 inch 1080p plasma(only for a week, then returned it) so my review will mostly be in comparison to those two sets and various display units I've seen in stores. First off, I'll list the pros.
1. AMAZING HD picture! I was always fairly satisfied with my old Vizio's picture, the Panasonic was disappointing, definitely not what I wanted. With this tv, it definitely had the "WOW" factor I was hoping to get from upgrading, right off the bat, too! Very minimal tweaking was needed.
2. Great value! For the price of a 42-46 inch regular HDTV, you get 3D and Internet connectivity with this set! And sure, it's not a "huge" name brand, I remember when Vizio released their first tvs a few years back, but from my experience with them, Vizio is clearly here to stay! For this size, I do believe this is the most affordable 3D tv on the market(at the time of this review).
3. 3D! Honestly, there's not too much you could do with 3D right now, it's limited to a handful of games and 2 handfuls of movies. However, it's the new kid on the block, the next step up. It'll still be a while until it fully catches on, but pretty soon there'll be a lot of amazing 3D content available, and with this tv, you'll be ready for it! Now, how well does this tv do 3D? Short answer, it depends on the source material. Long answer...I've tested the 3D on this set through 4 games with varying results(haven't had a chance to try out a 3D Blu-Ray just yet). With Killzone 3, the game took a fair dip in graphics, it almost looked like I was trying to play a game with insufficient specs. However, some of the 3D effects were really good. Oddly, there was a little ghosting during a slow dialogue scene, yet no ghosting during a high-speed chase scene. With Crysis 2, there was no notable dip in graphics. However, the 3D didn't have a big impact. Your character feels a lil' more separated from the world, and the HUD actually looks like it's popped out and stickied on your screen, but other than that, no huge deal. There was also 1 part of the gun, on the scope, that always had some ghosting, it kinda looked like the gun's scope had an outline, not a huge deal, though. The Sly Collection and Wipeout HD were pretty much the same result, no noticeable dip in graphics, but not exactly a "wowing" 3D effect. It definitely works, but it's not amazing. So basically this all brings me back to my short answer, it depends on the source of the 3D. As the technology increases, I have faith that this tv will be able to handle the 3D well!
4. Super inexpensive glasses! Active-shutter 3D glasses can run you somewhere around 150 a pair! Yikes! Consider that you wanna invite 5 friends over to watch a 3D movie, assuming your tv came with two pairs, you'd still have to pay $600 for an additional 4 pairs! Insane! This tv, you can just "recycle" the glasses you get at the theater by putting 'em to use at your own home! You could probably pay a theater employee to let you take home 4 pairs for, what, 10 bucks. Bam, you just saved $590 bucks!
5. Connectivity. With Panasonic tvs, you gotta buy some kind of "dongle" to be able to use internet apps, and that'll run you 50 bucks. With this tv, it's built right in. And it updates itself!
6. Easy setup. It should only take you 10 minutes or so at most to put on the base and set up all the settings.
7. No input lag with gaming! At least, if you game with PS3 or Xbox, you probably won't notice at all. If you're a super hardcore PC gamer that can actually tell the difference between 8 and 5 milliseconds of input lag, then maaaaybe you'll be able to notice some lag. With the right settings turned on and others turned off, it's smooth sailing for gamers.

Now for the cons, these are really nitpicky, to be honest.

1. When 3D is on, there's less picture settings you can access, not too sure why this is.
2. No internet browser. Some tvs have it, this one doesn't.
3. My tv just updated its firmware, and I have no idea what was changed, wish there was some kind of list I could view to see what kind of changes came with the update, I do hope this tv gets continued updates and support from Vizio.
4. Apps aren't that great, none are really must-have, in my opinion. Those who don't have a gaming console or Blu-Ray player for their tv may appreciate the Netflix app, though.
5. No 2D to 3D conversion, some tvs have this, this one doesn't. It's a very hit-or-miss feature, but would've been nice to have nonetheless.
6. Stand is plastic and feels cheap compared to Panasonic's heavy stand. Also has a bit of wobble. Not a problem if you plan to wall mount.
7. Non-HD looks pretty bad, but pretty much any HDTV is gonna run Standard definition pretty badly.
8. This is the case with any 3D tv, you're almost guaranteed to get dizziness or nausea. I'm no lightweight, while I had many friends getting headaches from the 3DS, I didn't get any at all. While Cloverfield had many people puking, I had no problem with it. But yeah, you might get mild nausea from the 3D effects.

So that about sums it up, for the price, you get what you paid for and SO much more! My best advice is for you to go out and test a display unit, see how you like it. Vizio did really good with this tv!!!

BEST $530.00 EVER SPENT Review by drunkenviper

well here it is was looking for a new tv led, but while at walmart my friend in electronics said hey for $30 less you can get a 3D tv with apps and glasses. LOVE IT. BEST HD 3D INTERNET CONNECTED TV AROUND! Review by Josh

When I saw this for $618 at Walmart, I have to admit I was very skeptical. Lately I'd been hearing great things about Vizio, but I figured $618 was just too good to be true. Flipped a coin and went ahead and bought it. I LOVE IT. To back up my claims you should know that I have a Sony Google TV and a Samsung 3D LED. Neither of them hold a candle to this great Vizio. The simplicity and well ranged functionality of the apps has Google TV looking sloppy and the 3D effects produced on this bad boy make me feel stupid for buying $600 worth of Samsung 3D glasses.

All in all, this TV is a must buy for anyone looking to get the latest and greatest, without taking out a second mortgage.

<3 it.

GREAT TV/ODD REMOTE ISSUE Review by MPR

I LOVE this tv. The features you get for the price are amazing, and the picture is fantastic. I also love that the remote has a built in keyboard. The only issue i have is that you REALLY have to mash hard on the left arrow key (on both sides of the remote) to get it to work.

This TV delivers an awesome picture and "extras" for the money! The clarity is outstanding. Definitely the best in its class.
