* The HDD capacity on VIZIO computers may appear to be smaller than the size stated in the product specifications, documentation or on the packaging. This is because manufacturers describe and advertise HDD space in terms of decimal capacity, a base of powers of 10. For example, one Gigabyte (GB) means 109 = 1,000,000,000 bytes. However, Microsoft® Windows and other operating systems and programs report storage capacity using powers of two. Thus, 1 GB = 230 = 1,073,741,824 bytes, and shows less storage space. I had high hopes for Vizio's small laptop with SSD drive and the Windows Signature Experience. My expectations have definitely been exceeded. The SSD drive takes around 20-25 seconds from fully off to fully ready to go with connection to a wireless network established. Very impressive. Windows 8 loads in about half the time as Windows 7 so it will be interesting to see how quickly Win8 will load on this computer.
Other nice features include the easy to use keyboard (wider keys), magnets to keep the unit closed, very crisp monitor, and an easy to use track pad or whatever it is called. There is not an independent left click and right click button beneatth the track pad. You simply press the bottom corner on the left or right side as if a button is there and it works great.
I have tested computers in the same class from Dell, HP, Sony, Acer, and Apple. This Vizio computer meets or exceeds the quality of a comparable Apple laptop and exceeds the other Windows laptops of this size/type.(Posted on 9/30/12)

I bought this for my wife's birthday, after returning a larger traditional laptop, and I'm incredibly impressed by a few things:
1) The display is the best I've ever seen on any PC. The high resolution on the 14" screen exhibits the same quality as a retina display on Apple products. This screen brightness and color balance are far better than any other laptop I've seen.
2) The Windows signature experience is amazing. People rave about how Apple products benefit from the integrated design of hardware and software. Our experience with this laptop suggests that Windows, left undamaged by bloatware, meets or exceeds Apple when paired with such fantastic hardware as this laptop.
3) The over all design aesthetic. This is a very sleek, functional, well though out design. No gimmicks, just very clean performance.
For the next versions, try and sneak in an SD card reader and longer batter, but these are minor compared to the overall performance of this PC. We are very pleased!

Love the HD display. Touch pad is a bit sensitive but after the driver updates it's good to go. Boot up is really fast. Can't be beat for $650 @ Walmart. Perfect daily laptop. I highly recommend this laptop.

Vizio rolled out the new touchpad driver that addressed the touchpad sensitivity issue, and the result is I now have the greatest laptop I've ever owned! The Microsoft Signature Windows 7 is a totally refreshing experience - this PC literally boots in seconds thanks to the solid state drive and Signature OS. My co workers and friends have never seen a PC boot so fast, every one of them is impressed with the gorgeous HD display and one of our IT techs headed to WalMart at lunch to buy one for pesonal use!
Vizio is going to own the PC and HDTV market if they keep up this innovation and value added pricing. You absolutely cannot go wrong buying this product or any of their backlit LCD/LED HD TV's.(Posted on 8/16/12)

Faster than my 5-core 8Gb desktop.... must be the SSD. Great display, light weight and fast boots make this laptop a great buy around $900. Only thing I don't like about this device is the sensitivity of the touch pad is not adjustable and it's way too sensitive, so you'll want to disable the on-pad click feature. Great battery life, sweet high quality device. I have a Vizio HD LCD/LED backlit TV too, and that's the biggest reason I bought this CT14-A0 - Vizio rocks!
