- TV setup and remote code Review by A1ATechFixer

I purchased the Vizio E321ME on 9-4-11 and set it up in my bedroom as a replacement for an older flat screen Sony Bravia. We liked the 1080P, 3 HDMI's, Vizio quality and the Costco 2 year warranty.
The first problem I had was attaching my HDMI cable from the Time Warner Cable box. Upon attaching, It made a piercing noise and the screen was filled with horizontal lines. I turned off the TV quickly and tried the RF cable. It worked fine. Then I tried the AV cables and they were fine. As a last ditch effort to get HDMI working i borrowed the Hi Speed Vizio HDMI cable from my Sony PS3, attached it and it all worked perfectly!. The BBC Earth life series looked amazing!!
Finally the remote control on my Time Warner Cable TV box (Cisco Explorer 4642 HDC) didn't have any codes for my cable remote to turn on/off the TV or control the volume. After doing a google search and trying all of the offered codes I started trying my own codes. Finally jackpot code 197 worked perfectly with a bonus. My Ihome 290 powered up when using volume down and it changed station with volume up!!
Overall my wife and I are very pleased on our 30th anniversary!

- True power of VIZIO Review by Reg

After purchasing this very sleek HDTV, I was very pleased. So far i have not had any problems with this TV and has been showing nice 1080p quality with my XBOX 360 hooked up to it via HDMI. For a very low price this was a steal so I purchased it when i got the chance. I will test it's true performance with my new XBOX 360 when gears of war 3 comes out with the 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound headset. I hope the output works! Hopefully this review was helpful and thanks for reading.

My review of the Vizio E321ME:
Step number one....Try turning off the "AMBIENT LIGHT SENSOR."..........in my opinion, this option doesn't seem to work too well, and often seems to get "fooled" into dimming the picture excessively. As a matter of fact, I have never seen an "ambient light sensor" that can't be fooled.
There are many things about this new Vizio model E321ME that seem to be exceptionally good, especially considering the low price.
The LCD panel is of very high quality, and easily capable of displaying 1080p images, and computer desktop small text (via HDMI) with excellent clarity, contrast and brightness.
I also use this Vizio model as a computer monitor, connected with an HDMI cable to my laptop, and it works very well.
Colors are good, and with a little custom tuning are capable of being excellent, assuming you are watching a program source that has good color to start with.
Onboard audio is adequate and usable, and the two SRS audio functions work well and are very useful.
I use an external audio system anyway (still with SRS functions turned ON) because I prefer reasonably full range bass, but the built-in audio system is very acceptable for typical TV viewing and is capable of being quite loud if necessary.
The remote control has very good range, and doesn't need to be pointed exactly at the TV to work properly.
The "over-the-air" channel tuner is very sensitive and locks in quickly. As fast as any I've seen.
There are several nice options in the menu that are worth exploring, and on this model it seems very simple to do so.
Another general recommendation ....about HDMI...>>USE IT<< whenever possible! If you have a DVD or Bluray player or computer and it has an HDMI connection available, USE IT !!!
Be aware there are many very low cost HDMI cables available these days and they work just fine. You should never have to pay more than about six or seven dollars for a 6-foot HDMI cable. You could pay $30, even more, for the same cable length, ... but it won't make any important difference.
There. ... That's my review. I'm guessing if you buy this model, you will probably like it!(Posted on 8/27/11)
