I bought this TV from Walmart about 3-4yrs ago and I'm only repacing it for a larger screen TV. But I'm moving this one to another room in my house. If you can find it new or used, I would buy it. Absolutely no complaints at all. Easy operation

The best TV I ever had! Review by Hobbit

I just wanna say as a memorial to my old TV. This is the best tv I have every had it served me well in its 3 years of life. The picture was absolutely amazing and sound couldn't have been better for me. I'm a gamer and I take pride in the kind of TV I use.

This was the best there was but a tornado destroyed my home and the TV with it. FYI no one was hurt. My dad is an electronics genius and he had been through many, many TVs when I was younger. So I've a great share of TVs of different brands. Vizio is the absolute best and this TV was as well.

I'm soon to be getting a replacement for this I searched everywhere to buy one of these new but alas could not find. So I'm thinking of going with SV422XVT or the E420VO

This is my 1st flat screen TV and Im so happy with this 42" Vizio!! It meets all my expectations and I couldn't believe the value and bang for the buck when I purchased it @ Walmart. I had researched for awhile couldn't decide which brand, Sony, Samsung or Vizio. I have always purchased Sony and compared other brands to them until I visited some friends and saw their flat screen TV.. IT had the best picture I had ever seen and immediately I saw the Vizio name on the set. When I watched a Blu ray movie on it, I absolutely couldn't believe how vivid and remarkable the picture was..My mind was made up, I immediately went by Walmart that night and bought my 1st Vizio TV and also Vizio Blu ray player and haven't looked back (Sony). Vizio makes a great product and I will purchase their products in the future, in fact I'm thinking of getting a larger screen for my den and moving the 42" to the bedroom.You wont be disappointed with your purchase of a Vizio product and it will provide you with amazing quality @ a lower price.

I have search for good value between quality and price, and Vizio have super passed all of them, The quality have been excellent, many reviews online, and in person I have heard from consumers as me.
I just walk trough Walmart and this one was on discount $598 +tax $640. I wished the price was lower (last minute shopping, I could wait and do more research), but it compensates the quality of this Tv, VIZIO is making great Tv's. I am happy with my purchase.

I scooped this joint on may 2 after my 52 inch RCA convergence went out. Walmart like some of the other reviews. Best investment all year so far. perfect picture, surround sound, stepped of my ps3 and xbox definition. must have tv for any one upgrading or replacing. I paid more for the RCA than i did the for the FULL HD 42 INCH VIZIO!!!

I bought this TV in Walmart for $628.00 and its worth every penny! Picture and sound are terrific. I also connected it to my PC wich also looks great!
It even picked up 12 digital channels on my cable service that my Pioneer 50" plasma in the other room refuses to. Thank you Vizio for a great product.

I purchased the 42" VIZIO HD Model VO420E today at WalMart for $638.00 and so far this television is exceptional. The picture is very sharp and crisp and the sound is excellent. After hours of research I decided to go for the VO420E. I am glad I did. Bought it from Overstock as a refurbished unit. I received it and it was in perfect shape. It was a breeze to hook up to my Dish Network HD. Great picture and very easy to use. I hooked up my Blu-Ray player and just watching regular DVD's the picture is flawless. I have another Vizio also and couldn't be happier with that other one also so Vizio is the brand for me.

I bought my 42 inch VISO on March 23 2010@ Wally World (Walmart) $638 and love it. It replaced my 52 inch RCA Rear projection TV in which the sound went out. I rate this set # 1 BEST ONE I EVER OWNED!
I'm on cable and this set added 15 HD stations and Music channels that was available but my old set could not receive them. Now I have several channels in Reg our HD! example Ch 5 & CH5HD, my choice..:) Also music channels my other TVs could not find! Here's a tip on your Remote Control! I found the code to program another one is
102. This code is not listed in most controllers because its a new TV on Market. I hope this helps.

My Dad Has a 52 inch Sony and I thought that was great but when I went over to a friends house I looked at the screen and I was like is that a cartoon or what because the colors were so bright I seen perfection this picture was so brilliant and the colors were so beautiful ! It was like being right there Sorry Sony I love my 37,42,55 inch Vizio!!! Hmmmmmm.... now I think I might have to get one for the bathroom!

I bought the vizio vo420e on 2/12/10, after about three months of recearch. This is the best tv i have ever owned. I love this tv it is a new member of our family. We enjoy the crystal clear picture. The picture is even better watching movies on blu-ray. All I can say is thank you Vizio. The purchase of this tv has brought our family closer. We have movie night all the time. I purchased this 42" Vizio this past summer and I have been enjoying it ever since! The price was great only $648 at Walmart. Its just big enough but not too big. The picture quality is excellent! I compared it to other more expensive brands side by side in the store and I couldn't see that this tv had any less quality than the others. I will be purchasing the 32" very soon to replace my old tube tv in my bedroom...can't wait:) Buy this tv you won't be dissapointed!

A few years back my wife and I purchased a RCA 61" HD rear projection. It went out once in warranty and the last time (Christmas night). We moved the 32" Vizio from our bedroom to get by. We then went TV shopping, enough to make you dizzy. We looked at side by side pictures. Did all the price checking. We were more than happy to return to Vizio for our 42", plus it was on sale at Wal-Mart. Out of the box set up and watching all within 10 minutes. What a crisp vibrant picture we have. Great sound to boot, turn on our surround sound and we don't need to go to the movies. Thanks Vizio.

I woke up Jan 1, 2010 and my 31" TV was dead - I ran right to Walmart and snatched up my first flat screen. It is a great picture - I was mesmerized. I set it up myself with cable - not a problem. I LOVE IT - picture looks great, just having a hard time selecting how I want the picture to look regarding ZOOM, PANARAMIC etc

Excellent price - $ 648 (Walmart rocks) - very easy to set up - BEAUTIFUL PICTURE

VERY SATISFIED - GREAT VALUE

Now I just have to wait until the Curtis Mathes TV in the bedroom to die - I'll get another, smaller VIZIO for sure

For 55 years I have watched TV with snow in the picture. The other day I bought the Vizio 42" HDTV. The price of $704 with tax was the deal maker. When I set it up with my HD cable box I almost passed out when I saw my first football game in high def. The picture was soo clear that you could almost see the players jocks through their uniforms! The only snow I saw was an actual snow storm on the show. I have a 19" vizio in my room so I'am familiar with the Vizio quality. Verry good picture but a bit too small. The 42" fit my taste verry good. I actually passed up Sony to buy Vizio. The two prices were almost the same. If you are looking for a verry good HDTV at a good price you don't have to look no further than a Vizio. The Vizio name is soo good I bought the Vizio Blue Ray player to go with my 42. AMAZING movie watching experience.

My review is almost identical to ED's below. Although I have a 56" Sony rear-projector HDTV in another room (9 yr old, was $4000 at the time), this is the first flatpanel HDTV we bought for casual viewing in the family room. Awesome picture quality.

Was $648 @ Wallmart. There were 5-6 boxes when we picked up one. 10 minutes later they were all gone. Do not spend $800-$900 on another 42" TV (premium is for 120Hz vs 60Hz). This TV will blow you away.

This is our second Vizio. We bought a 32 last year. A bit small for our living room so we put it in our bedroom. Bought this 42 from Wal Mart two days ago. Right out of the box, no adjustments needed for our taste. Regular DVD's played on a blue ray look incredible! Watched Troy last night. I think I really saw it for the first time. Can't imagine what the blue ray would look like. Fantastic! Why pay hundreds more? You cannot beat Vizios sets for the value. Outstanding.

Bought this set at Walmart back in July 2009 on sale for $598.00. I mean how can you beat that? You can't. It is a quality set and for a 42' HD LCD the price could make you think this TV is of low quality. Think again! Vizio is making a quality product and cut prices deep enough to give companies like Sharp and Samsung and Sony, fits. Now Vizio is branching out to other venues apart from the big box stores. Sears sells Vizio as does Target. These guys know what they're doing. If anyone tells you this set is junk (usually videophille snobs) you can tell them that you spent a quarter of what they did and in the process got a TV that has a great picture and suits your needs just fine. Keep up the good work Vizio. Now if you can build a 47" LCD and price it at Walmart for under $850.00 I will buy 2 more right away.
